Default FandangoNow VIP Rewards Points

How much value do you get out of your points?

Generally if a movie is around $5 then I only redeem 200 points for 10% off even if I have more available due to diminishing returns. This gives me 50 cents off or only 400 points per dollar.

I redeem 600 points for larger purchases like Game of Thrones season 7 for 20% off $26. This is much better at only 115 points per dollar.

My issue with these is that you only get them when buying/renting on fandangonow.

IMO we should accumulate points while buying movie tickets on Fandango.

I mean it uses your same login.

I have 500 which is 15% off, my next purchase will put me at 600 for 20% off.

Spending more points for a higher % discount isn't always a great idea. If you spend 600 points for 20% off of a $5 movie, you save $1. That's 600 points per dollar.

Please bear with me through all the math.

Those same 600 points could be used on 3 different $5 movies at 10% off each. That's $1.50 savings, or 400 points per dollar. A much better return.

That math checks out. Btw, I'm not good at math, so I have no credibility here.

I redeemed 600 points earlier this week in hopes that it could stack with last month's 20% code. It didn't. Luckily it doesn't expire until the end of October, so I have until then to use it on something worthwhile.

Who is really wasting their points on a $5 movie though?

They did email a 50% off code last week that expires at the end of the month.

Either way I like that they always have sales. Like the 20% that could be used 4 times in July.

VUDU rarely has sales any more it seems.

So that is the question. I haven't bought much on FN that cost any more than $5 so I need to spend my points on something. Because points can't be used on bundles or combined with other % off discounts, I spend them when I can.

I got alot of value out of the 20% July coupon. In fact they sent me a 2nd one I could use another 4 times. It all left me with about 1000 points by the end.

I looked and could not find a $4.99 section.

What am I doing wrong?

I don't know how they were originally found, but I get them each morning, and share it if it hasn't been shared already, by changing the date at the end of the URL used for the daily deals

Code:
https://www.fandangonow.com/list/daily-deals-20170804
Today's date at the end is 20170804, so to see the deals tomorrow just change the day to 05 (20170805).

Those deals have been very useful. Its even better that they are good for 2 days.

I've been buying more from them than the Vudu sales.

And now thanks to your explanation of redeeming the points on them, I'm going to stop doing it at 20% for 1 movie and do 10% on 3 movies.

These guys just aren't so relevant to me with their number of non-UV titles and the significant problem of them not being a DMA partner either.....
