I suspect that Sony (and others) will be announcing new kit following the CES in Las Vegas.

If you want Sony at the moment, you would be better off saving up a bit extra and looking at the Sony STR-DA5300ES. This one is fairly new and decodes the following audio formats:-
  • DTS HD/DolbyTruHD/Dolby Digital+ YES/YES/YES
  • LPCM (2CH/5.1CH/7.1CH) thru HDMI™ YES/YES/YES
  • Dolby Digital/DTS YES/YES
  • Dolby Digital EX YES
  • DTS-ES (MATRIX6.1/DISCRETE6.1) YES (YES/YES)
  • DTS 96/24 YES
  • DTS NEO:6 YES
  • Dolby Prologic YES
  • Dolby Prologic II YES
  • Dolby Prologic IIx YES
  • Dolby Dual Mono YES
  • 96k/24Bit PCM YES
  • Neural Audio YES

The 3200es was replaced by the 3300es this past summer. And it looks like the 3300es might soon be replaced as well. Also, I don't think the 3200 supported HDMI 1.3

Sure am glad the industry has finally adopted a standard! <sarcasm>

That list is insane!

I have the ES5300. It's specs list supporting DTS HD Master. Upon reading the manual the display schematic shows a display section for it "MASTER". It'll show DTS HD when doing 7.1 High Resolution though.

The irony - I'm still setting my theatre up and my Sony BDPS500 doesn't support Master in bitstream, only HR. Either I'll get lucky and I'll be able to firmware update it down the line through a DVD or I'll get another player.

The BDPS500 was a freebie, so I can live with it.

I'd go with the Denon 3808CI...that'll be what I'm upgrading to some time this year, hear nothing but good stuff from my co-workers about it

Was actually looking at a couple myself on eBay yesterday. Going for $1600 or so with "Buy it Now" pricing.
