Default Cosmetic Scratch Repair

I have a few DVDs (and even some Blu-rays) with cosmetic scratches that don't seem to affect playback. Still, I'm interested in restoring these to mint condition if possible. I have my doubts about any store bought or home remedy solution, so I'm considering using a professional repair service. Does anyone have any experience using these? The scratches I have are fairly minor, so anything that leaves behind light scratches or creates new blemishes of its own probably wouldn't be satisfactory in my case.

Sadly I can't think of any independent/small chain video stores here in Northern NJ that would do this, so I would probably seek out a mail-in service on eBay. I've read that there is a type of heat-based machine that gently melts the disc so that the plastic resettles without the scratches, with better results than the abrasive machines. Does anyone know of a service that uses such a machine?
