A lot of budget 4K TVs feature 8-bit panels that use dithering to approximate the color range of true 10-bit panels, which is known as 8-bit + FRC (Frame Rate Control). My display, which is an LG 43UH6500, is such a 4K TV.
I'd like to know just how much better colors look on a true 10-bit panel relative to an 8-bit one that uses FRC. |

Since you're in NYC, can you get over to Value Electronics in Scarsdale? Robert Zohn is the owner and a valued member here. Let him know you're a Bluray.com member. He has an AMAZING showroom. |
