Gone with the Wind. This year alone may have been tougher than the rest of the decade

The Wizard of Oz
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
Ninotchka
Of Mice and Men
Stagecoach
Wuthering Heights
Love Affair
Goodbye, Mr Chips
Dark Victory

+1. Guess I'll vote for Gone With the Wind as it is the only film that still passes the test of time.

I haven't seen enough of the films in the 30's but of the ones that won that I have seen, I would select Gone with the Wind.

It Happened One Night is a great, funny film with an awesome story. Great performances by everyone involved in the production. I want it on Blu!

+1 It is a wonderful film. Clark Gable at his best.

However.... I voted for Gone With the Wind. My all time favorite. Clark Gable was not too bad it this one either.

Well, I 've seen all but 3 of these (All Quiet on the Western Front, Cavalcade, & The Great Ziegfeld). So, out of the 7 I've seen, I gotta go with Gone with the Wind as the best. Simply an epic movie with one of the greatest endings in cinema history. It Happened One Night is a close second though. And honorable mention goes to Mutiny on the Bounty.

Gone with the Wind, for sure, although I do have a soft spot for one most people despise - the glorious Ziegfeld.

I love It Happened One Night and Grand Hotel, but it has to be Gone With the Wind. I've seen it in the theater multiple times and let me tell you, that's an experience. One of the times was at a packed Fox Theater in Detroit. That was a great night.

It Happened One Night is by far my favorite of these. Not actually a huge fan of Gone With the Wind.
