Default PS3 Blu-ray Player needing to update the encrytion key is BS!

I don't see why the Blu-ray Player of PS3 would need to be updated when it has always played all the Blu-rays I'ved played on it but recently I had to upgrade the firmware, unfortunately. Thankfully to my luck I had a newer PS3 game which did the trick so it's OK but still crap either way forcing this.

'cause the problem is not upgrading but being able to, due to being in a rural area and I don't have stable internet connection to be downloading stuff.

Are you complaining that the PS3 has the ability to be upgraded in order to maintain the ability to be able to play all of the latest software?

Regardless of where you may be located and how poor your internet may be, this is still a good thing no matter how you try to spin it the other way. After all, at some point you must visit friends or family or the public library or some sort of facility where the internet is better. You can just bring a USB stick with you and ask one of those locations if you can take a minute to download the update.

It isn't B.S. at all in my opinion.

Another problem is that the digital full games on my PS3 also require the a renewal of the licence and I can't play them because the console has been offline for ages.

This is bs because consoles should always be able to play games and movies without being stuck to stupid restrictions but it's typical Sony crap to keep an eye on their customers as if we were animals in a zoo.

Well, it's no wonder many have hacked their PS3s to avoid Sony's "stable" firmware updates and these moronic restrictions. I'd too but I don't know anyone nearby who would be able to do it.

Btw, the full games on my 360 don't suffer from the same so I'm glad 'cause I bought a lot back then.

Although I strongly disagree with the implications of such a moniker, that made me laugh out loud on public transit. Thanks for making everyone look at me as if I had metal problems!!!

Only thing I ever remember being BS3ish was having to connect my brand new 160GB model to the Internet before I could watch a movie.

Am over it now though.

So do you lose the ability to watch blurays on it if it has been offline for too long? And downloaded games, too? Does it effect all movies and downloaded games, or just certain ones?
