No. Releasing officially licensed Blu-ray players with no region protection is not allowed.
Actually, it's not even possible. Blu-ray has no region zero, like the DVD format. "Region free" Blu-ray players have region switching features. The Xbox One is not allowed to have that, of course, per the above. Last edited by Naiera; 12-07-2017 at 02:43 AM. |

Region 0 or Zero isn't a region on DVD, it's a term to describe an un-flagged disc. True all region discs are flagged All or region 9 if I recall, so they're playable anywhere. And no, the Xbox are locked to their territory like the players. |

The Blu-ray Player on Xbox One X allows you to enjoy Blu-ray movies available in your region. Each Xbox One console is manufactured for a specific Blu-ray region, following international standards. The Xbox One console can play Blu-ray discs that are sold in the same region as the console.
Tips: Some Blu-ray discs are not region-encoded or are coded to all regions. Region-free Blu-ray discs will play on any Xbox console. Game discs for the Xbox One X are not coded to regions. |
