I was with the film until the point where they made the psycho into a superhero. I wanted something like Silence of the Lambs or Psycho, but what I got was evil Spiderman.

So you won't be watching
[Show spoiler]the planned crossover of Beast with Dunn and Mr. Glass? I suppose they could call it Avengers of Night

I enjoyed it. It was an interesting exploration of the idea that
[Show spoiler]humans have untapped potential, and that the power of the mind can lead to people exceeding what we currently think is physically possible.

Granted, it did take this to extremes, and turned a man with mental health issues into a diabolical, superpowered monster (which is perhaps a questionable move in these more enlightened times).

But after a bit of a faltering start I came to find myself enjoying the idea of creating a supervillain story out of (relatively) grounded reality, in the same way that Shyamalan did the same thing for a superhero with Unbreakable - which I continue to love.

I'd almost given up on Shyamalan in recent years, but although this film did not have the same artistic flourishes as The Sixth Sense or Unbreakable, perhaps due to the constraints of a much lower budget, I am interested to see what happens when
[Show spoiler]David Dunn meets Kevin Wendell Crumb.

I must have been the only person who thought the 'twist' ending was the most underwhelming thing ever. It played like it had been shoehorned in at the last minute and had no impact on me other than a mild groan.

Just finished watching it and what can I say what a film I enjoyed it for what it was and the twist at the end was very clever and the PQ is up there with the best of them definitely reference quality for sure.

Surely going to add the movie to my collection, but in no hurry as I've seen it. Loved the ending btw. After this and The Visit, Shyamalan is slowly rising again to that top level that he reached with my two favorites Unbreakable and The Village.

I didn't particularly enjoy it but someone else might want to bite at £4.49 on amazon.

I feel like this film had way more potential, I just didn't like it's style/presentation.
