OH MY F(&$#*$ING GOD! Contractors = IDIOTS!

I have had 3 LOOOONG conversations with our contractors stating that I am fed up with their bull shit. However - they manage to top the previous days list of bull shit.

An entire spare box of exotic 400 dollar 3" hard wood floor was THROWN AWAY. Just tossed in the trash like nobody's business. Thank god it's not gone permanently and it's a huge ass bin sitting in our drive way.

Excuse? We thought it was trash. I don't suppose the NICENESS of it and the fact that it matches our DEN and it was in a BOX was not a clue?

Next, one of the bathrooms has brown marble in it. We have this nice box of beige grout. Looks really nice when dried. I come in and what do my freaking eyes see??? ABSOLUT BLACK grout between the tiles. Black freaking grout in my brown marble tiles! Oh man I was hot. Told them to fix it immediately. Reamed them on why ANYONE would put black grout with brown marble tile. That was a month ago.

Now, I go downstairs TODAY to check on the progress and find out its sub freezing tempratures. I find out they left the bathroom window fully open, unlocked and did not tell me. BUT WAIT - THATS NOT ALL! This bathroom has BLACK GRANITE TILES - ABSOLUT BLACK - guess what I freaking see for grout??? Anyone - take a freaking guess! BEIGE GROUT!!! OMG brown freaking grout in my god damn black granite floor!

I am floored. This shit is now hardened. I don't care. They will peel every freaking inch of that floor up and replace it for all I care. Idiots. Absolute ****ing idiots.

Sad part - these guys are the ones that turned out to be the least idiotic when we did the interviews of oh about 15 companies. Moderately priced. I am pissed beyond belief.

Haha, glad my old man is a contractor - if I ever need anything done, I get it done for very low and excellently.

I just promised him I'd design him his house in a few years.

The inaptitude of contractors is becoming quite the punchline these days.

I guess I should go get a contractor's license. I couldn't cut a straight line when I could see well, but I think I could do better than that blind.

Hope you get it all fixed in the end without blowing a blood vessel.

It seems like the standards in the USA are pretty lax for contractors. There are a few bad apples here in Canada too, but it's much easier to find quality tradespeople. (of which I am one)

Problem is, the works is nearly done. The bulk of it is complete. Still have some big things left but nothing terrible. Since most of the job is done, I can't fire them even though I really want too. God I want to soo bad. However, too much money has been spent and time invested.

Looks like they will get another ass chewing. Wonder if this time it might stick? Who the hell knows.

Yes, but the Holmes on Homes show is Canadian, and he found plenty of bad contractors.

Here in the Northwoods, you can't even get someone to come to your house, most of the time.

Have they demanded final payment before completing the job yet? This is the part where they typically try to get the money and run leaving the job unfinished and the problems you've identified unaddressed. Good luck.

Nope. They will NOT get their final payment until the job is complete. The final payment is also being adjusted for projects that they are no longer doing due to the fact that they are too slow and they keep lying.

They have damaged two brand new doors, one of them was a brand new 2300.00 dollar pella french door. Thankfully another issue arose and pella is covering the panel under warranty. They are very lucky.

Short story - there not getting the full final payment by a long shot.
