Played a similar thing a few years ago: you had to pick 8 movies for a certain period of time (3-4 monthis, but I don't remember) and points were given according to box-office and average per theatre.
It was fun, and yes, difficult!

I have been playing this for a couple months now. Mildly entertaining, but largely just a game of luck
