National Treasure (UK Channel 4 Miniseries)

Polyband will continue its trend of releasing UK television shows on German Blu-ray when they release Channel 4's miniseries National Treasure (2016) on 13 October 2017. Acorn UK had previously released the series on DVD only last year, and do not appear to be planning a Blu-ray version.

This four-part series is really excellent, and it's great to see Robbie Coltrane back in a dramatic role. Julie Walters is also superb, as well.

According to the specs from Polyband, the Blu-ray will have both German dubbed and original English DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio, as well as English subtitles only, which is something Polyband often does with English-language programming. Be aware that this will likely be a localized German version, but I don't remember a significant amount of onscreen text, so it will probably be limited to German credit screens and the like. Based on the stated run time, the series should be uncut, and contain virtually the same extra(s) as the UK DVD--as I recall, interviews were the only real extra on it.

The title of the miniseries was possibly its only misstep, as this certainly isn't the Disney film series.
