It looks like Us (featuring Get Out), not Get Out AND Us.

Get Out is a terrific movie, but Us is a masterpiece.

If you don't mind, I just submit here the very same post I did on the "Us" official thread. If you don't mind. Thanks.

(SPOILERS)

Jordan Peele just delivered a supreme masterpiece. "US" is indeed one of the greatest movies which ever graced the screen. Quite frankly, the criticism I've read here and there seems to me absurd and inconsistent. Nothing personal! Just my humble opinion. Land of free.

"US" is a perfect movie. From start to finish. Pure cinematic perfection. Perfect screenplay, perfect direction, perfect cinematography, perfect acting.

First of all, Lupita's "raspy" voice is genuinely creepy and frightening, well-crafted and well-delivered. She deserved a big Oscar for her dual role. Her role as RED, more specifically, is a masterwork.
Oh, and all the sequences involving
[Show spoiler]the Tethered in the Underworld, mimicking the humans "from" above,
are 100% creepy and frightening to the nth degree. I wish there was more of that... prequel TV series anyone? I can dream.

Many complained about the supposed plot holes. Well, the movie badly needs a prequel novel or a prequel TV series, as stated above. They are not plot holes anyway. You can fill the gaps by yourself.

That said, before going into the "spoiler" zone, I just state the obvious here:

1-
[Show spoiler]American government is never mentioned. NEVER. It's not the American government
behind all that.
2-
[Show spoiler]They are not "clones". Yes, it's science fiction, not fantasy, but they are NOT "clones"
anyway. At all.

Let's go into the Spoiler Zone now:

Red doesn't know anything.

[Show spoiler]Red doesn't know anything anything about the origins of the Tethered. She mentions "the humans" that created the Tethered, but they could have been "humanoids", not "humans". She never saw them. She never mentions American government anyway. How could she ever know? She's human, albeit if "special" (mutant). She's not a Tethered.
As simple as that, ALIENS created the Tethered, not earthlings. The Tethered are not clones. They are "quantic duplicates" telepathically connected to their human counterparts.

So please, follow me:

Creation of the Tethered.

[Show spoiler]The Underworld creates the Tethered. Maybe there's massive alien machinery on there. It's a mechanical process.
The Underworld is a sort of "parallel world" below ours, and the alien machinery instantaniously creates the Tethered via some quantum entanglement process. That would explain WHY Red met Abraham, and there was a "Gabe Duplicate" (Abraham) in the very first place, even if Gabe never ever visited Santa Cruz before being romantically involved with Adelaide.

The Tethered and... their powers.

[Show spoiler]The Tethered are telepathically connected to their human counterparts. That's obvious. Also, they are not normal. They are stronger than humans, more animalistic, and more resistant to death (see Umbrae).
Red and Adelaide are both different, they are "special". Original Adelaide/Fake Red is human, but she can absorb the qualities and the proprieties of the Tethered. She can connect to Original Red/Fake Adelaide and mimick her as well.

The Tethered clothes.

[Show spoiler]The Tethered's clothes are created by alien machinery stored in all the sections of the Underworld. That would explain why, in the flashback scenes, the Tethered were wearing clothes identical to their counterparts at the amusement park, even if clothes bearing "fuzzy/muddy details". At a certain point, you can see the Original Red/Fake Adelaide wearing a Thriller t-shirt as well, but with a fuzzy/blurry design stamped on the chest.

More later.............

Yes in the movie section. I would say this thread is about a steelbook. But it is a forum so people should talk about whatever tickles their cheeks.

Yes, that is unless you have an opinion that isn't generally "agreed" upon.

That's okay. No mean to harm anyone.
Steelbook Time Now! Like the Thing/Ben Grimm would say.

This. I was just providing people with a new angle about the movie.

I thought your post was insightful. While I do like Us a lot (I think Get Out is too on the nose but still really great), I don't consider it to be perfect. I know you're a full-on stan (not that I'm criticizing, considering I named myself after a character in Sucker Punch- and which was the reason why I made an account back when it was being released on Blu-ray), so I do think you have a bias.

But people act like this is a bad film, and I don't think it is. Then again I think
his best film yet is Nope.

I understand what you say. Different perspectives.
The reactions of some people here truly surprised me, because everywhere else the movie has been lauded and embraced with glory.

Glad to know you enjoyed the post. Thanks.

Ps: I like Sucker Punch. Bizarre movie...
