I am one of the rare breeds of people who enjoyed the first one as well. I didn't know they even MADE a second one until I saw it on the shelf at Walmart today.

I'm hoping to read some good feedback in here as well.

Just got my Amazon order in (drop four inches of snow on the south & everything grinds to a halt... ). Will post thoughts later.

Count me in as one who enjoyed the first movie. Had no idea a sequel came out. It stars Frank Grillo, so that's a plus. Might have to blind buy it.

So... kinda average. Feels like a SyFy film with a better budget. Video quality varies wildly from scene to scene; some look fantastic, others have that weird "live broadcast" look about them. Same for the FX; some look shockingly good for a DTV sequel, others just remind you that you're watching a DTV sequel. Grillo was his usual badass self, the rest of the cast is just passable. And a subplot involving a little girl serves absolutely no purpose until
[Show spoiler]they end it. On a cliffhanger. Again.

It was moderately enjoyable, but on the whole I'd recommend waiting for a sale. Especially since there are no special features at all, not even a trailer.

Just finished watching both back to back and yeah, it's really cool after all these years to finally get a resolution to the ending of the first. Neither one is particularly great but they are fun, schlocky sci-fi and BEYOND definitely delivers on the action front. If you like the first, you'll like the second, no doubt about it.

Also enjoyed the first one, and didn't know this existed. Ordered the German steel which has shipped.

The CG in this is superb for the very low budget. Beyond Skyline is full of action and fx and it rockets along with fast pacing. I had a great time with it and it's so full of crazy sequences and action it's definitely worth checking out. It's a completely barmy movie but all the better for it.

I actually enjoyed both movies. They both had good suspense, effects and cinematography. The aliens were also pretty badass.

Battle Los Angeles should've taken notes.

I did think Beyond started off full blast, but dragged a little, when they reached Asia. However, it picks up towards the end.

Yes you're right, it does slow down a bit when they get to Asia but other than that it did maintain really good pacing and as you say, it starts full blast

Good to hear. Love Grillo so I used a giftcard to blind buy this.

I also liked the first one for what it was. I have had the UK Blu-ray of Beyond Skyline for 2 weeks now I think but haven't gotten around of watching it yet. I'm thinking of watching them back to back when I have the time and feel like it. The original (and most likely the sequel too) is still an aquired taste IMO. It's also one of those movies you have to be in the mood for I think.

I guess it's fair to say the sequel is more or less in the same vein as the original? That would definitely be a good thing.

The sequel doubles down on everything. Loads more action and fantastic sci fi visuals. This has the scale of a big blockbuster on a tiny budget. Really impressive what they achieved.

Really looking forward in seeing it then. I also love the cast: Grillo, Uwais, Novakovic, Mulvey, Ruhian and Fargas. Guess I won't be disappointed with blind buying this.

Just picked this up. I love Grillo and a fast moving b movie sci-fi actioner sounded like it would hit the spot this week. Looking forward to having a couple beers and firing this up tonight.

I forgot how the first movie ended so it was a little shocking how this one started for me. Not the greatest film but had some decent CGI for a direct to video release.

Just finished it and wow, consider me surprised. This was a damn good time. The horrendous artwork looks like you're in for The Asylum's version of Pacific Rim or something but this delivers. Yes it's a b movie of sorts but it's infinitely better than the first one and I can echo what others have said, every single penny of the budget is obvious.

I watch so many dtv movies to hate myself but this is a reminder why I do it. What a blast.
