Counting all versions of this movie that I've owned, this will be a quintuple dip for me.
![]() For me it's because they're not the same size as a standard case, or a steelbook case for that matter. The idea of a digibook is very cool, it's just too bad they had to screw up the execution. |

My problem is that they are over priced. There is no reason why some of these catalog titles, JFK, The Shawshank Redemption, Poltergeist, are still priced around $20-$25. If they weren't spiffed up with the extra 32 page book they would be priced $10-$12 cheaper. The Digibook packaging is being used as an excuse by Warner to keep the prices jacked up on these releases.

Reason I hate digibooks, is because they stick out like a sore thumb in the collection. Some of us just want a nice uniform collection. I like the fact that blu ray cases are slim, compact and shorter than dvd cases. Then comes a digibook and looks stupid on the shelf, unless you throw them at the very end of the bookcase or shelf.
That's all. If they reduced the height to standard blu ray case, I'd be ok with them. |

I just don't understand with all BluRay cases having a place for a insert they just don't make a regular 32 page insert. The majority of titles place nothing in there which is sad.
One issue I have is the cardboard book is more likely to get damaged then a plastic case. |

For those that hate the digi-book for aesthetic purposes, have you considered buying a standard blu case and printing your own custom cover to make it all uniform?
Custom Cover Art Thread The decision of whether to purchase a movie like Se7en (or waiting for non-digibook release) should hinge on the quality of the transfer and the movie itself, not limited to the type of case it comes in. You have options to make the case uniform if that is the sticking point. ![]() |
