Default FOX's "The Mick" (Season 2)

THE MICK is a no-holds-barred single-camera comedy that gives new meaning to the phrase “dysfunctional family.” MACKENZIE aka “MICKEY” (Kaitlin Olson, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) is a brash, two-bit hustler from Rhode Island who has spent her entire life shirking any semblance of responsibility. Lacking any drive, but in constant search of the next easy payday, Mickey is not without her charms. She’s smart, she’s fun, and despite all appearances, her head’s always in the game. She just needs a big win. That win kinda, sorta comes true when, looking for a handout, Mickey visits her estranged sister and billionaire brother-in-law in Greenwich, CT, but gets more than she bargained for, as this absurdly rich couple flees the country to escape federal fraud charges.

In a surprising turn of events, Mickey must assume guardianship of their three high-maintenance and ill-parented children: SABRINA (Sofia Black D’Elia, “The Messengers,” “Gossip Girl”), an ambitious, 18-going-on-30-year-old who is a worthy adversary to Mickey; CHIP (Thomas Barbusca, “The New Normal,” “Grey’s Anatomy”), 13, an arrogant, entitled neo-con-in-the-making with an extremely punchable face; and BEN (newcomer Jack Stanton), seven, an adorably fragile nerd. The life that Mickey has wanted for so long now is within her reach – the mansion, the convertible, the swimming pool, the walk-in closet full of designer clothes. But as Mickey is well aware, nothing in life is free.

The price? Transforming these outrageously spoiled children into honest, hard-working, decent members of society – something this foul-mouthed, debaucherous and completely out-of-her-element woman knows absolutely nothing about. Being a mother was never in Mickey’s game plan, but these kids desperately need a parent. And as irresponsible as Mickey has been her entire life, she may discover that responsibility and motherhood aren’t the buzzkill she always thought they would be.

First two episodes have been enjoyable so far. I've had some laugh-out-loud moments so I will keep watching for now

I thought this was great. A question though -- does anyone know if FXX will be airing alternate versions? I noticed tonight after the premiere of Sunny, they will be airing episode 1 and 2 of The Mick. The RED BAND trailer contains quite explicit stuff, so I am wondering if they shot different edits for different networks?

I'm wondering about those scenes now also, just watched the second episode on Hulu and it doesn't have that scene with the doctor telling her her nephew burned off his taste buds. It's going to suck if the uncensored scenes won't be shown anywhere and were just used to promote the show online.

EDIT: Looking at the trailer again, hopefully that scene is in a later episode and that doctor is reading from his records.

Eh, can we please get uncut shit on Hulu?

I watched the first ep and enjoyed it a lot, but I think I'll hold off until we know what's up with the real versions of the eps.

I'm enjoying it a lot so far. Kaitlin Olson is one of the funniest people out there and it's nice to see her in a lead role.

When I first saw TV spots for this, I thought it looked stupid as hell and had a terrible name. But I was bored and gave it a shot. Laughed my ass off during both episodes. Something about the TV spots don't do the show justice.

I think from what i have heard and or read that she is doing her character from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia but that's not a bad thing since a lot of people really like that show i have missed most of there seasons over time though.

An all-new episode of this season's No. 1 new comedy THE MICK, starring Kaitlin Olson ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"), will air on a special night and time Sunday, Jan. 15 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), following THE SIMPSONS' first-ever one-hour episode (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. After THE MICK, an all-new episode of FAMILY GUY airs (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), featuring New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski as a guest voice.

In the all-new episode of THE MICK, "The Balloon," Mickey (Olson) learns that the family has forgotten Ben's (Jack Stanton) seventh birthday, and forces them to put their selfish tendencies aside for one day and throw him the celebration he deserves, which proves way harder than planned.

Good, this will be the episode that will let us know for sure if those uncensored scenes will be censored on air and uncensored online. Little worried though that Fox took the Red Band trailer off their Youtube page. :/

They allowed "Pecker" on the FXX broadcast, was that said on the fox broadcast when The Mick told the kid to pull down the bully's pants?

Yes. It has already been confirmed in this thread the FXX and Fox broadcasts were identical.

Excited for more episodes!

Well, got the most recent episode from iTunes. "The Balloon" is where all those uncensored scenes came from, none of them were in the one on iTunes. Free trial is up on Hulu, so I can't check to see if they're in their version. This almost makes me not even want to continue watching.

Yeah the scene was completely altered. Must have just been filmed for the trailer.

I was also surprised at the smoking shown on a network. I thought that was banished? When is the last time a network prime time show had characters smoking and actually showed them inhaling With the cigarette in their mouth and stuff? I know smoking is still on some shows but I was under the impression they couldn't show it Actually being inhaled
