Default IT: Digital Release

Does anyone know what's going on with the iTunes digital release of "It"? For weeks the movie was listed as expected on November 21 but it has since been taken down entirely from both iTunes and this site.

I was on a digital movie site and they said it will be delivered Friday, Dec 29th.

Maybe they pushed it back?

Can't think of a stupider idea unless it is having some overseas success that I don't know about.

I would have had a Halloween release to capitalize.

Now they are going to miss Christmas also.

It's still on iTunes as a Pre-Order, no date, but has the iTunes Extras up: https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/it-2017/id1275323693

Yeah, originally iTunes had it listed as expected on Nov. 21 but apparently it’s been pushed back. I wonder why?

Awards season theatrical re-release promotion/push, maybe.

I doubt IT gets any oscar noms. If any horror movie from this year gets the rare Oscar nom it will be Get Out.

I've been waiting for the release, too...just checked BoxOfficeMojo on a hunch, it was still in the top 15 as of yesterday, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Okay I'll give it makeup. But that's about it.

I don't see it getting production design or VFX. Warner Bros has 2 much stronger contenders in Blade Runner 2049 and Dunkirk for both of those. You could even make a stronger case for their Kong:Skull Island and Wonder Woman for VFX over IT.

There's been talk of a Director's Cut release as well. Makes me wonder if they didn't delay it so extra work on that could be completed.

I think this going to be a very scatter-shot year for the Academy, meaning trophies dispersed across a wide number of films -- I think Dunkirk has Director and Picture locked up if the awards were held today, but we still have six weeks to go, and that's just for eligibility. Then the campaigns begin. Everything is wide open.

Generally speaking yes there are no clear front runners, dunkirk is heavily favorited but we still have The Post and Shape of Water too.

But as far as IT, i'd be very surprised if it got anything other than makeup. WB has far stronger contenders in every category and they have to be selective as to what they are going to put their campaign effforts behind.

Why would that horrible movie get any nominations?

It is not.
Are you referring to the most critically acclaimed movie of the year?

The one that just led the Gotham awards in noms?

The one oscar prognosticators have in the top 8 even though it came out a year before the oscar ceremony?

Do you follow this stuff at all or live under a rock?

I don’t understand a bunch of kids are there and scare to death, it doesn’t work on me to see small kids terrified. It’s a kids movie anyway.
