Default Region free 4K players exist?

Are there players that play 4K discs and also all region blu rays and DVDs?

Someone correct me if im wrong, but i dont believe there is any 4k players that are region free unless you mod it. The license for bluray didnt allow region free players to be made, so modding was only option. So same goes with 4k players, which is kinda odd since 4k discs are region free. Very odd that past dated tech is now more protected than the newest.

Mod or not, on amazon you can easily buy blu ray players that plays all region blu rays and all region DVDs.

My inquiry is do such players exist that also play 4K discs.

I'm looking on amazon and having trouble finding any. Can you link to any?

Like this is the Sony one you mentioned: https://www.amazon.com/Sony-UBP-X800...ords=Sony+x800

Can't find one that is region free. Lots that are region free and 4K upscaling.

Some decided to go with a regular 4K from the BF sales and buy a decent separate Region Free Bluray/DVD player
Probably what I should have done. ugh.

Try google "Region Free 4K" and "Bombay" or "220".

Most affordable option is going for a 4k player, and an additional all region modded Blu-ray player. If you search Amazon for 'Sony region free Blu-ray player' you'll see some cheaper options from a seller called MULTISYSTEM-ELECTRONICS. You have to click the other offers to see them.

Mine from years ago still works fine, though it's been partially retired now that I picked up an Oppo 203 with an external all region mod last month.

Thanks all I'll try some of those suggestions.

On a separate note, I predict 4K discs have region coding once they become more mainstream.

I went onto Bombay Electronics on eBay and did a best offer on their Sony UBP-X800 region free modded player. They came back with a buy it now price of $325 shipped. I mentioned that every retailer had the unmodded X800 player on sale for $149.99 so not sure if they will still honor that price since the sales are over. Worth a shot though.
I also went to Square Trade and got a 3 year warranty and saved 20% using code NOV20. I’m sure there will be a code DEC20 to save in December.

reewinder, another option for warranties is to use a credit card that has included extended warranty. My Chase card adds 2 year warranty to all electronic, appliance, etc purchases and it costs nothing got my OLED with 3 years coverage that way where as it woulda been like $100 purchased from places like square trade.

I bank at Chase. I will have to look into that. Thanks for the tip.
With this being a modded unit I wasn't sure what to expect warranty wise. Although I think Bombay gives it a one year warranty with them.
