My wife and I are considering splitting cost of this player as a Christmas present for us both. I've been reading about 4k players and this one seemed to get mentioned quite often. We have a Samsung HDR 4k tv were going to put it. Mostly we have blu ray but we have quite a few 4k movies I've gotten during sales and such and will probably upgrade some more on black friday. Were using her ps3 now as our player and I was curious if anyone has this player and has anything in particular to say about it. I just hope it does like our ps3 does in that we like if we stop mid movie and turn it off it picks right back up there where we left off the next day. I just want to ask since a 4k player isn't a cheap investment. We will probably wait till black friday and hope it goes on sale at amazon or bestbuy. I'd read about the first version of this player and it was reviewed well but I also saw this second version of it was coming out so we just waited for it to release. |

I have the ubp x-700 and have had no issues with it with any discs that I have played. I also enjoy playback from usb as well as it supports. It also has the usual streaming services as well. Only issues is you have to go in an enable and disable Dolby Vision on these players which if you have a samsung tv will be a non issues as DV is not supported. It boots up fast as well.

My x800 will remember the point you stopped at only depending on the movie, with some movies it forgets completely and you need to start all over again. I've read complains as I did with just about every other player. For me both have been very good players, very solid and it is really very cheap compared to many of the competition, my main complain is that there is no visual display on the player but the same can be said of just about every other player too. |

I was thinking about getting this one, but what is up with so many one star Amazon reviews for so many different sub-$300 blu-ray players (including this one) freezing up, etc? I would feel more comfortable if there was something out there without such a high percentage of complaints.

I still wonder if was best idea having 700 4k m or gotten this oh well i'm ok despite that It did freeze when I watch dark knight rises the 4k and I had to clean disc then work
I would still be using 800 if wasn't what happen power outrage back on 6th in feb if I only never turn bluray player when power went out wouldn't jacked it up even more besides stop remembering disc resume I still question myself onto why when I had 800 past 5 years it's been put up why the player will shut down when I watch a movie when volume on onkyo receiver txnr575 was 64 or 70 keep in mind receiver never goes off it was player it's not doing it 700 4k m nor there's no audio dropouts as of yet like 800 was when view a movie or Netflix either the Netflix hasn't even froze on 700 like 800 did when I fast forward a few times I used to unplug and replug back when audio was out on 800 when was watching Netflix I used to turn off receiver and turn it back on to get audio back I just wonder if I did something that made everything I had 800 with audio dropouts bluray player shutting down on itself when volume 64 or 70 why I don't see that happening on 700 4k m as of yet granted it was old 5 years besides it also freeze eject issues all I remember when I had 800 bluray player turn off receiver on before I put 700 4k m 2 days before I was moving entertainment center around twice 2 separate occasions I'm not sure receive noise or it was sorry smoke alarm in room loud alarm like noise whatever that noise came from and yes did stop what was doing 800 not doing it 700 4k m as of yet also when I watch dvd full frame and then go back to it goes wide screen automatically on 800 then back to full not sure why did that is the audio 800 louder then 700 and that is why bluray player would had shut off when it gets loud in the past ![]() Last edited by y2jman; 03-20-2022 at 09:43 PM. |

Naturally, I tried to help him. My new BDP arrives today, ... I hope it lasts as long as Vilya's LDP! They don't make things like they used to but this one looks pretty solid. |

yes I know there's still a sony 3200 bluray machine in the den and in my parents room
i'm just saying that power outrage did something bad to my 800 4k player back on the 6th of feb and I never had an issue when power goes out extended period of time and it screws up the player which is plug up behind entainment center surge protection how did I know when power did come up it did damage to it inside anyways ![]() I even thought I fixed it when I unplug and replug player when I try to play jungle book bluray it seems to remember last saved but after 2,3 later it stops factory reset did nothing and we all know I wasted 12 bucks 2 pack usb memory stick thought it died that wasn't case despite I used same brand then I try different brand nada then again this is partly my fault If I turn back time I would had never woke up from my nap 4 pm turn on my receive then player watch smallville bluray at 4 pm then just like that power goes out and came back up 2 hours later I would had never whine and cry wanting another 4k player and my brother order me 700 4k m as a quick replacement from amazon despite stupid Netflix button on remote control don't work which I don't care since app works in bluray menu ain't giving it sony to repair because button don't work and never going to press it basically in a nutshell if I slept a little more didn't get up 4 pm that day and when power did come back up the 800 4k player will still be working and wouldn't had stop remembering playback on discs after 2,3 days later besides what I mention freezes eject issues audio dropouts Last edited by y2jman; 03-22-2022 at 05:34 AM. |

well the reason why I thought at the time and didn't want admit that it was internal memory was when I had my 1st old Samsung bluray player my 1st flash drive was this
![]() 16 gb and 1 day it stop working had an error fast forward last month when that day happen I thought my Lexar 16 gb died hence and I thought need another flash drive because like I said numerous times I always in past power went out either by an outrage or a thunderstorm and then when power came back on everything was still good however I wasn't so lucky back on 6th of last month when was playing 800 4k player at 4 pm then just like that power goes out for 2 hours then came back up it affected internal memory player which is a 1st btw again I even thought I fixed it when just unplug and replug didn't work in fact even when I did factory reset player 1st<-having never done that before btw after 2,3 days which resume feature was a working after 2,3 days later it stop wouldn't resume any 4k's btw then I got nervous since I knew sony wouldn't fixed it and there wasn't any place in my little town can repair 4k bluray players I had a bright idea perhaps since my brother got it from best buy perhaps I shall go mt julliet and have geek squad fixed it prob would had taken a few days or a week then I had no 4k player I texted my brother he told me that was a stupid idea it would had prob cost 100 or more to get it fixed rather get a new 4k player at the time he saying saved up and we all know that I wanted to get 800 m2 4k player I even saw it electronic expires at the time I didn't have much money left didn't get paid until 3rd of this month I thought was a done deal was going to get 800 m2 4k player when get paid this month but nobody was willing to pay their half and me paying other half on the 23rd parents and older brother both agreed on 700 m 4k player since it was cheaper despite I wanted to get 800 4k m2 couldn't come up what's difference between that and 700 m 4k player i try to pm folks in the end he show me a pic that already order amazon that night and I got it the next day in which I hook it up myself I guess they didn't want me to whine and cry for rest of the month I even thought maybe I get a new 4k player birthday next month which was a long wait and couldn't handle waiting that long just because that power outrage shorten out internal memory resume feature and whatever damage it did that night I was looking at 800 thread and saw a couple of folks who were online and started to pm telling what happen and trying to figure out what to do and then if I had to get a new 4k player if I should stick with sony last few years or another 4k player Last edited by y2jman; 03-24-2022 at 11:45 PM. |
