Default !982 in UHD

After I purchased Blade Runner today in UHD I was reminded that it was one of the classic genre movies that came out in 1982.

I see at least 10 classic genre movie from 1982. The list by domestic box office.....

1. E.T.
2. Star Trek II
3. Poltergiest
4. Dark Crystal -- coming March 6, 2018
5. Conan
6. Sword and the Sorcerer
7. Tron
8. Blade Runner
9. Thing
10. Beastmaster

You may not like all of them but it's pretty cool that this many well regarded sci-fi/fantasy genre movies came out in one year.

And we have THREE on UHD. LOL. Well, it's a start.
Bill Hunt says Paramount tells him Trek II is coming early next year using the recent 4K re-master -- so that would make 4.

I would be ecstatic if they released Conan and Thing. Especially Conan, where they could fix the audio and picture issues and give multiple cuts.

EDIT:
Hmmm...like Ripley I wasn't keeping up on current events... I see the Dark Crystal is scheduled for next year already. I shall edit the list

So anybody else want the '82 set and how likely are the others in your opinion?

As my best friend reminds me, it was the nerdiest year in cinema. Being a 46-year old movie lover, I have fond memories of '82. I'm a big fan of all 10 listed and have watched them all numerous times from childhood through adulthood.

Day One purchases for me:
  1. Conan - one can dream
  2. Star Trek II - 100% likely
  3. The Thing - 100% likely
  4. Dark Crystal - 100% likely (NOW!)
  5. Poltergeist - one can dream
  6. Tron - one can dream
  7. Sword and the Sorcerer - highly unlikely
  8. Beastmaster - highly unlikely (just because it's last doesn't mean it's less loved)

Hi Bolty, could you fix the " ! " in the thread title?
It would make searches work better.

A definitive Conan release is probably my most-wanted UHD now, besides some extravagant releases like Ben-hur and Spartacus.

I saw 5 of those at the theater the summer after graduating high school, guess which one is my favorite?........Poltergeist, but The Thing is a close 2nd

Also saw Fast times at Ridgemont high, was a great summer for sure but seeing Jaws, Star Wars and CE3K as a kid is what got me hooked I think

I was born in '80 but these films were definitely a big part of my upbringing. For better or worse I was able to watch pretty much anything I wanted by the time I was 5 since my parents had "free" cable/pay-per-view, so watching a lot of those early 80's movies are among my earliest memories. And just look at me now! Movies really do make the best parents.

I believe ROAD WARRIOR is also an 1982 release -- at least in the U.S.

Anyone interested in 1982 movies should check out the Arrow release of The Thing. It has a pretty good overview of the big films released in 1982.
