Suddenly my movies are SD instead of HD - Blu-ray Forum

12 of my Disney Movie titles are suddenly SD when they have always been HDX on Vudu. They are also all showing up as my "latest purchases". What is going on? Has anyone else had that problem? They are still showing up as HD on itunes.

Cars Toon Mater's Tall Tales
The Help
Iron Man 2
Iron Man 3
Mars Needs Moms
Pirates of the Carribean 1
Pirates of the Carribean 2
Pirates of the Carribean 3
Race to Witch Mountain
Secret of the Wings
War Horse

The only one of those that I have is Iron Man 3 and in Vudu mine appears to be HD and SD.

This is happening for me as well. However, it's happening for more than just Disney movies. Both are now showing as SD in my Vudu library.

All the upgrades that you previously received from DMA/MA have now been (or will be?) downgraded to SD across providers. MA is aware but who knows if they plan on changing it back. This applies to the following codes:

Anything redeemed on Google in the past few months
All xml redeems
All SD MA redeems
All DVD Disney redeems

That's incredibly stupid on their part and a good way to lose the trust of their customers. We all had HD titles from blu-rays (XML) and they are going to revoke access? Screw digital. I'm done.

I have several XML redeems that were originally SD and were upgraded. They are all still HD.

If I didn't say it specifically it certainly was implied that this has not happened to every one, yet. Will it? I don't know. Maybe we should keep a tally. You have been recorded as "no".

Well, your post sounded pretty definitive. Is this "AL" in a position to know something like this, or is it just an unsourced rumor?

I am on the phone with VUDU customer service. They are confused because my account says that I own HDX (I provided the dates in my account) but the titles will only play in SD.

Yeah, we just got off the phone. He said that Disney was the one that revoked access to the HD versions of those movies, so bru20 is right. They are still in HD on itunes for now though, so I disconnected my movies anywhere account, not sure that will help though.

Just checked my VUDU and all my xml redemptions are no longer HDX either.

Let's see how long before Disney removes UHD access from us who got the 4K releases of GOTG2 and Pirates.

I plan on complaining loudly and regularly (though respectfully) by shooting off an email everyday until it is switched back. I guess my hope is that if enough people complain they will change their minds about gouging us like this. It's one thing to keep re-releasing titles over and over again in a slightly better format, it's another to revoke something you paid for (especially XML titles from blu-rays).

Just noticed it's not just Disney. Everything I only had in SD from iTunes and Amazon prior to MA that was upgraded to HDX has been downgraded.

I don't seem to be having this particular problem on vudu but I never linked my dma movies to ma since I already had them everywhere I want. I do have a bunch of movies stuck in sd on vudu that are upgraded to hd everywhere else I figured this would get fixed but since it hasn't I basically stopped using vudu. I feel like vudus going to kill itself with all the retroactive downgrades they are doing. I mean itunes is giving 4k copies while vudus turning hd copies into sd copies. Now that people aren't forced to use uv vudu might die from its ineptitude.
