Amazon video now out for Apple TV

It's here at last: the Amazon Prime Video app is now available for the Apple TV. The app arrives six months after Apple CEO Tim Cook said it would arrive “later this year” and with just days to spare in 2017. The iOS app was just updated to 5.0 as well, adding iPhone X support and universal search. The tvOS version is available to download on Apple TV 3rd generation devices or later. (If don’t see it, try searching for “Amazon Prime Video” on your Apple TV).

On Apple TV its 5.1. Checked Bosh - Played in 4K, HDR & 5.1

I’m as pleased as can be. Now my Apple TV has everything I want (except 4K VUDU, but I’ll live). Unplugged the Fire Stick already, and I’ve already watched a couple movies and we’re playing ambient Christmas music currently.

I'm surprised and elated that 3rd gen Apple TVs got it, especially after Vudu skipped it. So now I have a new way to watch my Amazon videos.

It’s only playing stero for me. This is on the Apple TV 4k. Tried both Spider-Man Homecoming uhd and some prime streaming.

Was playing stereo before but after the update some movies are playing 5.1 whereas others are still stereo. Blade Runner Final Cut is 5.1 but Dredd is stereo
