Looking for a good 2.1 soundbar

Maximum width of the soundbar I'm looking for is 38 inches. Must look aesthetically pleasing in front of a 40 inch TV. Also it must have a volume indicator (volume number display) with precise volume control. It must maintain an audio signal when navigating on my Apple TV 4k. The JBL 2.1 Bar that I returned kept dropping the audio signal after a few seconds while navigating on my Apple TV. This is to go into a crowded bedroom, so no room for small bookshelf speakers until I move out and have my own place. My max budget for a soundbar is $500. Which one of these soundbars is better:

Check out Klipsch HD Theater soundbars. I heard good things about them.

I've seen then but their soundbars are too tall. 3" is the maximum height I can have, as any taller will block the screen.

The spouse/kids use a Sony HT-XT2 on an older 46' Bravia. This has a subwoofer built in but don't expect it to "shake the walls". This is a good entry-level soundbar and will support the weight of a TV up to 55". If you have other Sony devices, the remote works with them as well. A very minor display, will show the selected source, and the volume level...and that's it. There is an ethernet connector for SW/FW updates...and Jet has it on sale!

Well today I bought the LG SJ5 soundbar (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-2-1-...n_8woD22r4ZF5Q) and I'm returning it tomorrow. Every time audio starts playing there's hissing in the background coming from the soundbar. I can easily hear the hissing from 5 ft away. I tried another optical cable and it still hisses while playing audio. I don't know if I got a defective one or this if is just a design flaw in this soundbar but I don't think I'm going to take a risk exchanging it for the same one and I will just return it for a refund.

Your better off getting a entry level receiver with 2 speakers. It will sound better than an entry level 2.1 speaker bar. Here are two links for a good entry level receiver and speakers:

I just picked up an Onkyo TX-SR444 Atmos amp for the price of $310. Even if you stick the smallest speakers and most inexpensive sub you can with it, you'll still get a better experience that a sound-bar and when you get a bigger place, slowly upgrade your system by merely adding speakers.

anything made by zvox is great
