Disney Disney VHS Request: "The Addams Family: The Complete Series"

Dear Bob Iger,

I have a proposal for Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment: as I'm sure you know, Disney (under its 20th Century Studios Home Entertainment banner) is set to issue next month, on December 3, "Alien Romulus" on a Limited Edition VHS in addition to its regular DVD, Blu Ray, and 4K Ultra HD Editions when it comes out.

That being said, it's my humble suggestion that Disney (again as 20th Century Studios Home Entertainment) make a deal with Amazon MGM Studios (which 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, under Rupert Murdoch, had previously partnered with before) for Disney to issue and release, for the first time EVER on VHS (in honor of its belated 60th Anniversary), "The Addams Family: The Complete Series," a loving showcase of all 64 half-hour episodes of the hit 1964-1966 sitcom "The Addams Family" 100% Complete, 100% Uncut, AND 100% Unedited, just the way that each episode originally aired on the ABC Television Network.

Created by Charles Addams, "The Addams Family" originally aired on ABC from September 18, 1964 - April 8, 1966 for 2 seasons of 64 half-hour episodes.

The series was adapted for television by David Levy and based on Charles Addams' series of cartoons originating in The New Yorker Magazine in 1942, in which the characters originally were nameless before being adapted for TV.

The show centered on Gomez Addams (John Astin), a lawyer, and his wife Morticia (Carolyn Jones), along with their children Wednesday (Lisa Loring) & Pugsley (Ken Weatherwax) as well as Uncle Fester Frump (Jackie Coogan), Grandmama (Blossom Rock) and their butler Lurch (Ted Cassidy).

Since its ABC cancellation, "The Addams Family" has been adapted numerous times--including twice as a cartoon in 1973 and 1992 as well as in 2 live-action feature films with Raul Julia as Gomez and Anjelica Huston as Morticia: "The Addams Family" in 1991 and its sequel, "Addams Family Values" in 1993.

In addition, there have been 2 recent animated movies by MGM, while the '90s live-action movies with Raul Julia were made by Paramount Pictures.

Reruns of "The Addams Family" aired on Nickelodeon as part of its Nick at Nite evening lineup from April 29, 1996 - October 31, 1997, with the show initially joining the lineup as part of an all-night sneak peek of sister network TV Land (then officially called Nick at Nite's TV Land, where it aired from 1996-1998 and again in the early to mid 2000's) before airing regularly from May 4, 1996 - July 6, 1996 as part of the weekly Nick at Nite's TV Land Sampler Programming Block from 10 P.M. to 12 A.M. ET before airing occasionally thereafter in simulcast Nick at Nite/TV Land events.

Tentatively, Bob, "The Addams Family: The Complete Series" shall be issued and released on VHS on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at a cost of ONLY $39.99 wherever VHS Tapes are sold, with 8 episodes per tape on 8 VHS Tapes in a VHS Tape Box Set.

Sincerely,
Steve Arino
