Lightbulb In A Parallel Universe...

Do you ever imagine what life would be like if things were different, regarding your favorite movies? Well, they are in a parallel universe!

Somewhere out there, George Lucas made The Phantom Menace first, in 1977.

And Peter Jackson started filming The Hobbit (one film) in 1999 instead of the FOTR.

Somewhere, Idris Elba got the role of Bond long ago, instead of Craig.

What would you like to see differently, and how do you think if, for example, we had gotten the Star Wars PT in place of the OT?

Fun things to ponder...

Film is completely dismissed by the public in the 1800s as a waste of time and effort.

I've love to see the alternate universe version of Raiders Of The Lost Ark with Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones.

In a parallel universe, no one on this website cares about Blu-ray discs as DVDs are cool and 'retro' now. Studios stop releasing movies on Blu-ray as sales drastically drop. DVDs are selling out everywhere and being resold on eBay for hundreds. Blu-ray and 4K discs collect dust on the store's shelves.

In a parallel universe, the DCEU is favored over the MCU by critics and the box office. There is also nothing known as the Snyder cut of Justice League, as his original version would have already been released. And audiences are talking about the epic conclusion of Snyder’s 5 movie arc, in the same vein as Avengers Endgame.

Germany wins WWII.

Killing Private Ryans or, Killing Last Private Ryans!
Dunkirk, The End of WWII
Schindler's List, A Conspiracy Theory
Downfall: Nein!
Sound of Music, The Trapped & Tried Trapps
Inglorious Basterds (no change, this movie works perfectly in both universes)

etc., etc., etc.

There are so many . . .

Hobbit. It's only one movie.

In a universe where there are only robots & AI . . . Matrix, where humans are secretly programming robots and AI to do their own bidding!

Tree of Life is a global box office hit raking in more than $1B and live action superhero movies are considered obscure small budget arthouse films.

People don't compare movies to books.

The Doom Patrol is much more popular than X-Men, and it also got a 9-movie franchise which smashed all worldwide records.

X-Men are more popular than Avengers.

Superman is the king of the box office.

Spider-Man is played by an adult 26 years old actor.

George Miller filmed a fourth Mad Max movie in the nineties, starring Mel Gibson.

"Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" is regarded as a visionary masterpiece.

James Cameron never filmed terrible movies like "Titanic" or "Avatar".

Henry Cavill starred in 2 sequels of "Man of Steel".

Hulk is played by a decent bodybuilding actor and it's not CGI.

Heath Ledger never died and we'd get the Dark Knight sequel that Nolan envisioned all along, instead of... Rises.

Back to the Future franchise:

Michael J. Fox was NEVER Marty McFly

Batman franchise:

George Clooney hits it big with fans and critics; stars in 4 more films as the Caped Crusader just like Craig as Bond.

Zardoz 2 was a smash hit all over the world and spawned tons of merchandising, a third chapter and a TV series.

“From Justin to Kelly” is the biggest money making movie of all time, spawning two sequels, action figure line, and a cartoon series. 15 years later, Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini run for president and vice president of usa. They win. They sing at their own inauguration. They bring world peace to the world (sending in platoons of Pitch Perfect singing women into war zones to drive the enemy mad and give up their weapons - Rebel Wilson gets awarded with many bravery ribbons and becomes Secretary of State during the second term), end pollution, save the ice caps and endangered species. They get Nobel Peace prizes. Scandal hits when Justin disappears and turns out that Kelly ate him. Ironically, she brought peace and order to the world but is sent to prison in her final days for her act of cannibilism. She releases a hit song “Since you have been eaten” from prison. Goes number one on charts for record breaking amount of days, and then she dies in prison.

Battlefield Earth gets 10 Oscar nominations, wins at least six, is a box office smash and John Travolta talks about it constantly.

Have you thought of submitting this idea as a script?
