Default Thinking about upgrading my player..

What is the best player to get in the US market, without importing, that's not an OPPO? I have the LG UP970 currently, and while it usually runs smoothly, it does occasionally have the little audio/video glitch.

I did briefly have the LG UBK90 about a year ago, and it had more glitches than the UP970, so I returned it.

The panasonic ub820 for me is the finest all around 4k player in the market. Its pricey but worth every penny

I would also say panasonic ub820 since you have a oled, if you don't care for DV then go for the 420.

LG and Sony make poor players. Best IMO is the Xbox One X, followed by Panasonic.

I have the 970 upstairs in my living room. Too noisy and too many glitches. I would wait till Black Friday and try and snag a Panny like Evoll mentioned,

Ehh, not really. Xbox One X isn't that great of a 4K player neither, especially since it doesn't support Dolby Vision via disc playback.

It’s a tremendous player, but yeah, for DV I recommend Panasonic. Key is to stay away from Sony and LG. Those are no bueno.

@Noremac_Mij I have no problems with my LG UBK90 player since I've brought it back in April of this year. Also had no issues with my non-DV LG UP875 player.

I've had a UBK90 for over a year as well, no issues at all. Super fast loading, handles DV without having to change settings everytime like the Panny I've read about. Got it for $125 on Ebay (Manufacturer refurb). I don't use it for streaming so that I have no issues/feedback on that feature, but everything else is fine.

Did Panasonic ever fix the DV brightness issue? Last I heard it was still not working correctly.

I still would say the x800m2 would do you, if it works good enough after you get one to test. Its a lot better than previously vibration special LG Player.

My 970 is super quiet. I can't even tell it's on but it does have those little audio and video glitches. I think I'll look into the Panasonic.
