The long-gestating sequel to Bryan Bertino’s home invasion masterpiece The Stranger will arrive in US Theaters on March 9th, 2018 under the title Strangers: Prey at Night!
Official Synopsis: When their road trip takes a turn, a family arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay in a borrowed trailer for the night, until three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test their every limit. Strangers: Prey at Night is directed by Johannes Roberts from a script penned by Bertino and Ben Ketai; the film stars Christina Hendricks, Bailee Madison, and Martin Henderson. Roberts: “[The Strangers 2 is] going to be great, I hope. I’m in week two of filming. It’s Christina Hendricks, Martin Henderson, Bailee Madison, Lewis Pullman, and they’re f***ing great. It looks absolutely incredible. I love Bertino’s film, I think it’s an amazing movie and tonally this movie is going to fit very well into that universe. It has a real strong emotional heart, which the first one did, and it has a very cool retro feel to it, a lot of sort of references to… I mean, I always bring a lot of John Carpenter with me because that’s what I grew up on, but also maybe going back a bit earlier to the seventies movies, from Don’t Look Now to Duel, the [Steven] Spielberg movie, even Christine a bit, the John Carpenter movie. All of these influences are finding their way into the movie, but I think it’s going to be a real fantastic movie. I’m super excited about it.” Source: http://horrorfreaknews.com/breaking-...angers-2/21048 ![]() |

I really hate this image. It's so artificial. Coming from a photography standpoint, there's no way the depth of field works here. You wouldn't have both people in focus, when they're standing at different focal points/distances from the camera...while having the background blurred so much.
So either the background blur is artificial and not done through the lens...or the "bad guy" isn't really in this image, and has been artificially placed in the image. This bothers me so much. |

I like the poster, but most people won’t remember the first movie. It’s been 9 years. I don’t think a subtle poster is a good idea for a sequel to a one-off horror movie that came out that long ago.
The trailer isn’t very good either. I guess it’s just a teaser. I won’t judge it too harshly. Love the original film, though, so I hope this is at least watchable. I hate that they keep saying it’s based on true events. They said that in the marketing of the original film. Supposedly a strange person knocked on the door of the writer/director at night when he was in a house similar to the one in the film, and they creeped him out. The rest is from his imagination. Kind of misleading marketing. At least he had a hand in the sequel’s script. It has my interest. |

Case in point, on the Facebook page for The Strangers/Strangers 2 someone complained that the ending of the first was terrible. Then a user commented: "It’s based of a true story so I mean it’s not like it was just made up." If they say it's true people just believe it.
