I am desperately trying to find a RELIABLE UK supplier of UHD discs.
Amazon are reliable but their prices are often higher than elsewhere and their delivery guy keeps leaving my stuff out in the rain. I caught him leaving something out in the open in my garden last week and knocked on the window and asked him why the hell he hadn't just rung the doorbell. "It was easy to leave it outside under the table" was his only response. Zavvi are notoriously bad. Very slow deliveries or they over-sell a title and then tell you after you could have sourced it from elsewhere if told in time that the title is "out of print" even when you've pre-ordered months in advance. Delivery is always an issue because they use Yodel. I was away for two weeks for an item that had no delivery date. Returned to find it dumped in the back garden absolutely soaked through and worthless because the email I was sent about delivery said it had been delivered to a neighbour without telling me which one (told me to check the delivered card which told the different story of "I left it out the back") I tried using Zoom a couple of weeks ago, based on seeing them mentioned here. Two weeks on I'm still waiting for delivery of "King Kong" with no indication of when I'll get it. As compensation for the long delays they sent me a 25% discount code which "expires 3rd December". I just tried using it and got a "code no longer valid" message. Seems like they're just as bad as Zavvi. Surely there's SOMEBODY in the UK who can be relied on to deliver something when they've said they'll deliver and be responsible about where they leave packages if I'm out? Any recommendations? |

I personally never had an issue with all three apart from amazon and zavvi on the odd occasion.
All of them been usually reliable on pre orders. With the execption of amazon next day going through royal mail then it can be the next day on most occations cause I don't know why royal mail been so incompentent. Zoom is owned by two of the studios Universal and Sony Pictures and never had a problem with them before. Another one in the past I use was base (base.com) and entertainment store (which has store fronts on some of the market places like eBay). Also HMV.com I saw you not mentioned. They are back at least and not had issues with them. |

I've been ordering from Zoom quite some time now and am extremely satisfied with them. Not only are they very cheap (when compared to prices in my own country), they also have some great customer service.
IMO: highly recommended. |

Similar experience from me really.
Never had any issues with Amazon and always get them on release day. Zavvi are often cheaper but frequently arrive a few days after release and their packaging isn't great. HMV prices are similar to Amazon but often arrive a few days after release. Some titles are cheaper on Zoom but delivery can be a bit flakey. Have had pre-orders a few days before release and others a few days after. |

I tried 4 times to pre-order and their site kept telling my card has]d been rejected. Then my credit card company said they’d blocked my card because HMV had taken three £1 amounts all very close to each other. When I complained they said they had the order ( even though web site had told me it had failed) and had only made two debits ( so who do I believe?) Then I tried to pre-order another title on Friday. Web site was ridiculously slow and then on payment page just failed with a 502 server error. HMV have since confirmed the order was placed but with such a terrible web site I’m loathe to use them again. I do ‘t Want my credit card blocking again, or to be told my order failed when it hasn’t. |

Zoom customer service hasn't been good lately. They didn't respond to emails or messages on social media until the following week. That could be due to the time of year though.

Yeah, that's why they gave out that 25% code, they've encountered a pretty hefty backlog for whatever reasons. I wonder if it's an issue at Sony DADC rather than anything that's zoom specific, seeing as the discs get shipped directly from DADC anyway?

They seem to be in a right old mess. I DID get a reply to my email today. They ignored my request as to why King Kong still hadn't shipped more than two weeks after ordering and request for a likely date, but said the reason the discount code they'd sent by way of apology wasn't working was because it had been abused and widely published on forums and so they'd withdrawn it.
Been told that I should receive a new "personal" discount code by close of business today if I hadn't already received it (I haven't) but in all honesty, I'm not holding my breath. |

As predicted - no discount code as promised by zoom for “end of the day’ yestetday.
And two “We’re sorry” emails from Zavvi for the “Warcraft” and “13 hours” UHDs ordered last week. So sick of the dreadful service we get from UK SUPPLIERS. How hard is it to have live stock levels in your ordering systems? (As a software developer I can say “not hard at all”) |

I've just cancelled my order from two weeks ago that they were unable to fulfill and couldn't give me any estimate for a delivery date on. Somewhat miffed that there wasn't a "Reason for cancellation" input box I could have let rip in.
I had £200 worth of UHD discs in my basket waiting for the code they'd issued, but have emptied it and purchased elsewhere. You learn most from a company by the way they deal with problems. And on that basis zoom are a big fail, just like Zavvi and HMV :-( |

I emailed Zoom a few days ago to cancel my pre-order of Valerian and Jumanji the answer I got was no that's not possible when your order been taken to this stage in processing. It's a pre-order and the first movie is out in like two weeks how can the order be processed at all. Sent another email back yesterday and haven't got an answer for that yet.

Zoom seem to be adding some very dodgy payment practices.
I cancelled my outstanding order on the 15th November. Today (the 17th November) they send me an automated email saying my credit card was declined. WTF are they doing, trying to take payment for an order I cancelled two days ago because of their inability to deliver in a timely manner or deal with customer service requests asking when I should expect it??!?! |
