Default Post Your BD Resolutions for 2018!

The only resolution I have for the new year is a goal of adding 100 more BD's to my collection.

Battle of the Sexes
Mark Felt
The Foreigner
Marshall
American Made
Loving Vincent
Blue Planet II
Silence of the Lambs
Only The Brave
Steelbook Prince of Darkness
Threads
Beyond Skyline
The Burbs
Hell or High Water
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
The Executioner's Song
Suburbicon

That's what I've got on my list so far for next year.

It should be easy to keep since I surpassed that over the last year.

Anyone else have goals or resolutions?

My new year's resolution is to actually watch all those films I bought in 2017.

Patience, patience, patience unless absolutely necessary! Also, watch way more of my collection that’s already sitting there. So, two birds with one stone then.

Buy less, watch more, and sell off what I've watched unless it absolutely merits at least one rewatch. My collection grew exponentially over the past year, and Mrs. Noirjunkie's patience, while remarkably stable to this point, will probably only stretch so far.

My last year resolutions were to catch up on Star Trek, Twilight Zone, and DC Animated Films releases... which I actually accomplished.

For 2018, I think I'm going to catch up on Scream Factory Collector's Editions and Right Stuf's Gundam Blu-rays.

Spend far less money. In the past two years I've added nearly 1,000 Blu-rays and spent over $17,000. Deciding to start collecting anime was a killer and buying from all these small labels like Vinegar Syndrome, Code Red, Severin, Kino Lorber, Scorpion Releasing, Synapse, and Mondo Macabro really did me. I also always feel like I have to jump in on all the sales I see from my favorite labels. I need to start concentrating on just getting the movies that I think I'll really enjoy and ignoring most of these sales. I have more than enough in my current backlog to keep me busy.

I'm going to try to catch up on buying all the sequels to the stuff I own, I feel a little incomplete without having every entry in a series. That does mean I'll have to buy garbage like American psycho 2 and independence day 2 though.

My 2018 resolution is for most of those titles on your list to get a 4K UHD release somewhere down the line.

I get where you're coming coming from. In Sept of 2015 I had roughly 18 blu rays. Now I'm up to 974.

Purchase less mainstream titles and focus on small label releases with limited runs.

-Acquire the Anchor Bay Dawn of the Dead blu ray.

-Get more TV Shows on blu. Truthfully, I don't like following shows until they've completed their run because I want to follow them without having to wait for months at a time after each season.

-Slow down on my overall collecting.

-Collect more animated movies.

-Collect more 4k's.

-Get a 4k player.

-Collect more pre 70's movies.

My resolution is to watch the unwatched titles that have been on the shelves (1 year or more) because they have been bypassed by something new coming in the mail (All of the new stuff has been put away). Afterwards, I can start diving into the TV series that have been gathering dust like the Farscape, Stargate:Atlantis, Star Trek: the Next Generation, Ken Burns: the War, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Penny Dreadful, Poirot-The Complete cases and on and on and on....ie:

I plan on purchasing more TRUE 4K titles into my collection and ONLY upgrading "TRUE" 4K classic titles in my collection ie: Harry Potter, Star Wars, LOTR, etc from this point forward.

I resolve to wait for the $9.99 price point for ALL major studio releases, and for a sub-$15 sale price on most specialty labels (Twilight Time, Kino, etc.). I also resolve to watch anything I buy within at least two months of the original purchase date.
