Blue Underground has really stepped their game up this year. The Lift and Down (aka The Shaft) are very entertaining films. Will definitely be picking them both up, as well as Amsterdamned. I hope BU keeps this pace up as their commissioned transfers are amazing! Can't wait to get my copy of the new Stendhal Syndrome blu-ray!

I am Dutch and for some reason I prefer Down over De Lift.
Down is a bad clone by the same director, but the size of the budget helped.

I'll probably end up getting both of them.

Haven't seen this since the Artisan DVD was released. Excited to check it out again, one of the only things I remember is that it ends with Aerosmith's "Love In An Elevator".

I did a double feature last night of The Lift and DOWN - firstly, I think Amsterdamned is awesome - Dick Maas shows that he can create "atmosphere," whether it be through his music or interesting locales...so I decided to watch The Lift. Honestly, I loved it. Very unique film that could have been a total misfire, because of it's silly premise - I found myself totally intrigued and invested. I cannot believe that I've never seen it before - but it will be in my film "rotation." DOWN however is a different story...very reminiscent of something you'd see on Scyfy, and not in a good way - everything about it feels off. Total shame because Naomi Watts looks GREAT in it.

Kudos to Blue Underground...after the "excitement" surrounding Amsterdamned and Stendahl, the presentations are TOP tier transfers.

Is the front art with the title “Down” newly created art for this release? I know the reverse art is from the old US dvd.
