Default Unfounded Paranoia?

OK guys, what is this negative crap that's starting to creep into this forum? Something about HD DVD group expects this and they're going to entice some blu studios into going neutral? Can we just once please be confident of the blu strategies implemented so far, and just the facts of superior blu ray selling numbers that we've seen week in and week out? Today is not a day to be bringing this kind of negative paranoia when one of the biggest studios just announced Blu exclusivity. Let's just enjoy the victory here.

IT IS TIME TO CELEBRATE!!!!!

I agree with you. I am sure that there are people here that would find something to complain about...right after an "intimate" encounter with Jessica Alba

Exactly. The HD DVD promo just cancelled their press conference on Sunday. THey had NO IDEA that this was about to happen. I think we can feel pretty good right now guys. No worries. I'm gonna go watch Harry Potter on BLU RAY--the only place you'll ever see HP6 & 7.

Is the red going to come off DUD, and we learn for the first time that Toshiba actually built stealth Blu-ray players all along?

look the only 2 that would make a difference are FOX and GOOD OLD UNCLE WALT and you cant just xerox from blu to red like you can the other way (fox and disney use and need more space then hddvd can provide ) . And hell DISNEY does better with blu then sony does so just relax enjoy the win and stop giving hddvders a false hope. And there is no money in prologing this war. so ?eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we buy more BLU?

No offense to all my Blu friends, but on this site, no matter how good the news is, no matter what the insiders tell us, there are always a handful who start freaking out that the sky is falling.

Insiders say things look good with WB, people start asking, "What if WB goes HDDVD exclusive?"

Mystic said it best - there are a bunch of pansies around here.

Forget it - it's over! The sky is not falling and, AS USUAL, everything is looking BLU!

It's over, enjoy.

Anyone crying over it needs to take their medication and move on.

They wouldn't have cancelled their CES conference if there was any life left at all. They threw up the white flag and they are looking to get off the sinking ship.

Toshiba was caught with their pants down and they have no answer and there is no answer.
They will spend the next weeks begging universal to not go neutral (or blu) and begging microsoft not to announce a blu add on.
NO amount of money will make ANY of the blu studios flinch, and it is a non issue because Microsoft will not be pulling out their wallet anymore.

As much as I enjoy blu and most of the time this forum I have always said we have many pansies on here.

No studio in they're right mind would go neutral now and I am sure that was told by the BDA to Warner to help the decision process.

This was an intense and sometimes bitter battle, but the BDA held the course, stayed focused, dealt honorably throughout all this, yielding an emminant victory, something that the HD DVD camp cannot claim. Even their desperate moves - the $ 99.00 hardware fire sale, though selling 190,000 player in one day or weekend - had little impact, and alienated any other manufacturer considering entering into the HD DVD player market, the payoff to Paramount, yet for only an 18 month agreement. All the efforts proved vain, and now at this juncture, with Warner Bros. going exclusively Blu-ray, will tip the scales of softwares production to 85 Plus % Blu-ray. We are at the end game. All that is left is the transition. Soon the Mass Merchants will stock only Blu-ray Players and Software. Do we need panic or paranoia? Absolutely not. Simply rejoice, especially if you were one who honorably fought the good fight. I am pleased for all future consumers, that they will be enjoying a single High Definition entertainment format, called Blu-ray. Enjoy the moment !
