"let us know"? Who's "us"? Are you connected to Netflix in some way?

It is because only the "blind" audiences will understand this film according to some outrageous jokes.

And there arent many "blind" bollywood bluray collectors.

Hello everybody! I'm brand new to the forum, and pretty new to Indian cinema in general actually!

The thing that prompted me to create an account, however, is the aforementioned mysterious lack of a blu-ray release of Kaabil. Is there any concrete info on why it doesn't seem to be happening, or - hopefully - when it might happen?

I read something about distributors losing money on the movie in cinemas? Could that make them wary of a home release? Any info would be at least some mild comfort!

I just got a Facebook memory notification that I saw this movie exactly one year ago in theaters. It's weird that there's no word on a BluRay release. Movie was a decent success.

Do new movies sometimes simply not release on Blu-ray? How likely is it at this point that there will be one? Open question to the board.

I'm sorta freaking out about missing out on this completely. There aren't exactly heaps of Hrithik Roshan movies coming out to begin with.

I suspect that this is some kind of special case. When a complete box-office egg like Mohenjo Daro can get a blu-ray release, I suspect it might be more because the producers signed some kind of big money deal for the film to be exclusive for some streaming service, or they wanted an astronomical sum for home video rights. The thing is apart from YRF and Reliance none of the major studios making films are into the home video business.

You reckon there'll be.a home release once a hypothetical streaming deal runs out, or am I out of luck?

I remember seeing a BluRay pre-order of this film on Amazon India but the listing disappeared after few months. There's probably a streaming only deal. It's on both Netflix and Hotstar.

If you like HR, I would suggest you to watch Guzaarish and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara as well.

Come to think of it.....

None of the filmkraft production are available on Beds. Not even the most release catalogue titles like KHUDGARZ, KHOON BHARI MANG, KARAN ARJUN, KOYLA, KNPH.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm all over it. I'm a huge Hrithik fan already, and I've seen all of his movies except Kaabil, Kites and Guzaarish. Having a pretty difficult time acquiring Guzaarish on BD as well unfortunately.

That's very worrysome. I hope they'll at least hit iTunes at some point. Not my digital platform of choice necessarily, but the one I've had the most luck finding Indian movies on in lieu of BD releases.

There’s a Korean release for Guzaarish.

Here in Sweden it absolutely does. You find entries for many movies on Google play here, but they're just evil teases and you can only add them to your wishlist to be "notified when they are available", which is essentially placebo.

But for instance Bahubali with the original Telugu language track is available on iTunes along with the three other versions. Bang Bang and Lakshya were available to rent from iTunes and unavailable elsewhere for me, et cetera.

But provided you are in a region where the movies are distributed at all, I'm sure the difference is faaaaar less noticeable.

Guzaarish is mind bogglingly expensive from there. There used to be a seller that only shipped to the UK, and before I could sort for someone to send me it from there, it went out of stock. It's been going for 59 pounds or something since then, which is ludicrous, obviously.

Oh boy, now it's even more outrageous. See attachment. Edit: actually, turns out you can barely read the attachment anyway

But I found Kites and it's in my basket. Thanks

Ah! Found it! Awesome! On a bit of a Bhansali high right now as well so this is excellent.

The real unicorn is Krrish on Blu-ray, though. It seems to HAVE been real, but it sure hasn't left a trace. Nothing on eBay even.
