Default 5.1 via ATV 4K? Please help.

Looking for some help here.. I'm not super knowledgeable about this kind of stuff. I have an ATV 4K, an older (circa 2010) Panasonic HTiB which has a Bluray player doubling as a receiver, and a Samsung plasma which does not have an ARC input and apparently does not support 5.1 pass-through with digital audio output. Am I SOL for getting 5.1 sound through my ATV 4K now?

The ATV is connected by HDMI to the TV along with the Bluray player and a Nintendo Switch. I have a digital audio cable going from Bluray/receiver to the TV as this seems to be my only option. I don't believe it has an HDMI out either.

I'm in the market for a new sound system so I may have to do that if I want 5.1? And on that topic, any suggestions for a soundbar system that comes with a wireless sub and rear speakers?
