Which Titles Are You Looking Forward To The Most In 2019?

2018 was a fantastic year for movies on physical media, with plenty for everyone with widely varying tastes. But will 2019 be even better? To be completely honest 2018 will be hard to top IMO but I'm still looking forward to more than a few titles, some making their premieres while others receiving much-needed upgrades. My top wants for next year:

There are a handful of "odds & ends" and still TBA titles I'm also looking forward to, like Deadly Force (Shout) and Jungle Holocaust (Code Red), some of which I'm reluctant to list because of their unknown status, plus other as-yet-unannounced titles from Arrow, Vinegar Syndrome and others. I'll add more to my list as titles are officially announced

As you can see I lean more towards contemporary B movies. Thankfully, this category seems to be the most widely catered to. Of course, I also look forward to the occasional studio stuff when they upgrade something like Scarface to UHD (rumored to be coming in July). Haven't seen many new theatrical films that I've found very impressive so there's really not much there for me. Also, I'm knee deep in the 4K format but I really only look forward to back catalog titles primarily - anything shot on film.

Of those titles announced (certainly but a small percentage of titles that will eventually see release in 2019) I am most pleased with Kino's Hope and Crosby "Road to" pictures and Shout/Screams 50's horror films.

Will Warner finally licence THE DEVILS and CRASH (1996) to Criterion for Blu-ray in 2019? Those are my two holy grails!

Given that Warner Archive really came through in 2018 and released some great, totally unexpected, and long awaited titles that I thought we might never see on Blu (i.e. The Thing From Another World, Big Wednesday, Never So Few), will they continue to surprise us and extend their great run into 2019 with Blu-rays for The Late Show, Up Periscope, and Torpedo Run.

Last Train From Gun Hill, Warlock, and Open Range are all titles that have enjoyed international Blu-ray releases. It's time we see these classic westerns released domestically in the U.S.

Also,will 2019 be the year we FINALLY see the often rumored, but never materialized, Blu-ray release of The Abyss. I, for one, am not holding my breath.
