Default Now THIS is What You Call Ironic: Beloved Onkyo 605 OSD Menu Problem...

It was just yesterday or the day before that I had commented in one of the Onkyo-related threads in here (may have been that Onkyo 606 thread a couple of threads down) saying that my beloved 605 has been rock solid since we bought it when it came out, and how it hasn't exhibited a hiccup even after daily use for all these years....it seems I may have jinxed myself by saying so, as last night, after running a complete system diagnostic on my setup to make sure all settings are still intact, etc. -- something I do periodically usually after a day of cleaning the house -- I was greeted by a solid blue screen instead of the receiver's on-screen setup menu display...

Okay -- so the AVR is obviously connected, all these years, so that the HDMI MONITOR OUT puts video through to my rear projection display, and that's how I normally check all the 605's settings (calibration levels, distances, crossovers, etc.). But last night, I pressed the MENU button on the receiver's remote, and all I got was a bright blue background screen -- no on-screen menu information. I went into the MENU several times without success, so I finally shut the AVR off and then turned it back on, which put the menu options back on my screen...

Does anyone know why this happened, and is this cause for concern? Are the Onkyos known for losing their on-screen prompts after awhile? This is the first I'm hearing of this situation, and experiencing it, but I'm wondering if something is going wrong in the receiver's microprocessor or other part; can anyone lend any insight?
