Ugh. They have a perfect real-world setup for a disturbing psychological thriller, and they turn it into a jump-scare haunting? Incredibly disappointed.

Trailers usually are filled with jump scares (have to appeal to the general audience). The IT trailer a bunch of jump scares but the actual movie barely had any.

It's not so much the jump scares alone, but the demonic spirits and people being thrown around by supernatural forces.

I was hoping for something closer to The Shining or The Others, where the horror is more about the atmosphere and perception than any actual hauntings, even if hauntings are an element.

I loved the 15 second trailer before the minute and a half trailer started.

I hate this new trend of attaching a mini-trailer to trailers.

Movie looks good, though. I don't believe they did any filming at the actual Winchester Mansion but it sure looks like they did a great job recreating it. I've been to it myself a few times and it is something else to experience in person. Not a big fan of Helen Mirren but I hope this turns out good.

They did indeed film on the property. How much I'm not sure though.

Interesting. I follow the mansion's Facebook page and know they've posted about it over the last couple of years, but don't recall them mentioning anything about filming being done on the property. Maybe it's just been awhile and I've forgotten.

I read an article this morning stating "Filming had taken place in Australia and some scenes were shot in the actual mansion located in Northern California."

Have passed it several times but have never had any interest in going but now I wouldn't mind checking it out someday. I did read awhile ago that they expanded the tour to include more rooms. I think I read the article in the Mercury News.

Such a great setting but this trailer makes it look like it will be a jump scare heavy CGI fest. Sometimes you really can tell all you need to know from a teaser.

I think this will be rather tame, Jigsaw a pretty tame R (at least by franchise standards) and the Spierigs seem to put story above actual horror.
