Nice. Already have the German mediabook (would have gotten the BU blu, if I knew it was coming within a year or so) but I'm glad others that don't have a region free player or wanted to spend a lot get the chance to own the film on blu-ray.

I've been asking for this one since discovering this horror gem a couple of years ago and was very close to just biting the bullet and getting the DVD, glad I waited. This is one moody, clever and at times even touching films; the whole movie works as a metaphor for returning vets with PTSD. Hope this release gets it even more of the fans it deserves.

Already grabbed the Subkultur version of this so I'm good.

It will be very interesting to see how this Blue Underground blu-ray version stacks up against the Subkultur one.

This is such a terrific flick. Can't wait to upgrade!!!

The old US Gorgon VHS had a slightly longer ending
[Show spoiler](car explodes at the graveyard)
than the print BU used on their DVD, but the VHS may have just been an alternate cut.

The US poster art is definitely quality work, but it really downplays the horror and makes it look like a euro-crime film. This is one rare case that I hope they have a reversible cover and come up with a really cool commissioned art ( I never say that) or use different artwork maybe used in a foreign territory on the reverse.

I'd never gotten around to getting the Subkultur release, but I'm certainly looking forward to see what Blue Underground has to offer on this one...

now have the final details on DEATHDREAM (aka DEAD OF NIGHT). The Deluxe Limited Edition of Bob Clark's critically-acclaimed zombie shocker will be unleashed on November 28th!

SOMETHING UNSPEAKABLE HAS COME HOME

In this shattering variation on “The Monkey’s Paw,” grief-stricken suburban parents (Academy AwardŽ nominees John Marley of THE GODFATHER and Lynn Carlin of FACES) refuse to accept the news that their son Andy (Richard Backus) has been killed in Vietnam. But when Andy returns home soon after, something may be horribly wrong: Andy is alive and well… or is he? Produced and directed by Bob Clark (BLACK CHRISTMAS) and written by Alan Ormsby (DERANGED), DEATHDREAM was one of the very first films to confront the domestic ravages of the Vietnam War. More than forty years later, it remains one of the most chilling horror films of all time.

DEATHDREAM was released under several different titles, including DEAD OF NIGHT, THE NIGHT WALK and THE NIGHT ANDY CAME HOME, and marked the grisly debut of gore effects legend Tom Savini (DAWN OF THE DEAD). Blue Underground is proud to present this acclaimed zombie shocker in a new 2K restoration from the 35mm negative in its most complete version ever, along with original and brand-new Extras exclusive to this release!

Extras:
• Audio Commentary #1 with Co-Producer/Director Bob Clark
• Audio Commentary #2 with Writer/Make-Up Artist (Uncredited) Alan Ormsby

Word.
I admire the bravery of those willing to pre order the next Blue Underground release based on the last couple.

Content wise I don't think so. There is the well known longer ending, BU may or may not be using it in the body of the film.

Aside from the extras, it says :

• WORLD PREMIERE of brand new 2K restoration from the 35mm negative in its most complete version ever!

So this is a different master than what Subkultur used. Fingers crossed.
