I’ve never bought a Kino Lorber title day one. What do they usually go for? This is $30 preorder. I know it’ll go down, but by how much?

They usually drop to around $19 or $20 in my experience, but only time will tell I suppose.

I will of course be buying this, but I’ll wait for it to drop a bit.

I pre-ordered it for $19.80 as well. I collect Kino Lorber but this is the first one I've pre-ordered at full price.

I'm not usually big on slip covers. But this one is really good, imo.

Great they used the original movie poster art for it.

I'm wondering if that's an actual slipcover or the reversible inside art (which they have very often). The only Kino I've ever had with a slip cover is Fear and Desire.

I'm betting on reversible.

God help me. The covers are so nice they make me want to buy it, even though I don't really need it.

I didn’t know Kino did reversible covers. I knew Twilight Time does. But that makes more sense. In my experience, Kino is more likely to give a release a slip box. None of my KL blues have a slipcover.

Even better. I like both of the artwork examples, but the one of her in her armor with sword is amazing!

I actually said that wrong, Fear and Desire is indeed a slip box, not a slip cover! I've never seen them do a slip cover either.

Edit: Got mine and yep it's reversible, hard to choose which one to use too.

got my copy from Amazon today, no slip (seems the same as the US release of The Lion in Winter, no slip cover)

It looks fine. I do wish the audio had been given a boost. Bergman has a couple of whispered monologues which I had trouble following. Unfortunately, the disc has no subtitle option.

There were a couple moments in the movie where the picture was a little fuzzy. Did anybody else have that problem.

This is part of Kino's "While Supplies Last" sale and is going OOP. According to reviews, the transfer is supposed to be pretty good. Will definitely check this out. Should be interesting to compare this color version with the Dreyer silent.
