Default Toshiba says HD-DVD is not dead yet

The red side refuses to die. I hope a domino effect comes into place soon.
I've also heard about Toshiba trying to see the legal implications of Warner leaving them, in an attempt to maybe try to force them back ? I don't know

Who knows. Their meeting with their partners about the situation was probably how much money they would have to throw at Universal and Paramount not to abandon them.

"it's all politics... just like Bush and Iraq :P"

Please everyone! Let's not drag national politics into the discussions. Regardless of your political beliefs, let's just enjoy the fact that we are united Blu supporters. This board can easily go into a direction we all will regret

Agreed?

It's funny when you think about it. HD DVD keeps getting declared dead, and Blu-ray keeps getting declared the winner. What does that tell you?

That hd-dvd is a zombie that tries to eat people's brains at night in some dark street ?

I see that bird and all I can think of is Dumb and Dumber...Petey!

Michael Bay says it's dead...if directors start being as vocal as him, they will pick the studios that will issue their movies in the format they prefer.

Same old news... misleading title.

Nowhere does Universal or Paramount reconfirm support for the format. Nowhere does Toshiba announce their "grand master plan" to save the format.

It's all over but the concession speeches.

key word is "yet". It's natural for them to do so. They have already lost billions of dollars so they can't just give up after the Warner news. They need time to think and come up with a plan. It's not easy just to turn off the lights in 2 days. I give it 6months - 1 year until they make a decision once the domino effect hurt them. The Toshiba shareholders are not going to be happy about this....they will force them to bail out and take the loss than more loss if they drag it.

Their spokesman was on the brink of tears, announced nothing for the future, and departed after 5 minutes.

HD-DVD's finished.
