Superbowl or tax time. Absolutely not during Black Friday. Many of the items available then are off-brands or special models not carried with the regular inventory. If you have a problem, there may not be any available to exchange, then you've got the extra hassle of getting a refund & picking out another tv.

I think that's mostly true for in-store items at places like Walmart but if you buy them during Black Friday at places like Amazon or Best Buy (or other online electronics stores) they will carry the regular brand models. I specifically remember most OLEDs from LG were on sale last Black Friday for very good prices and a lot of Vizio's too. I would say Black Friday is a good time for sales on TVs but just be careful of the model and store you choose.

I do agree the Super Bowl is another good time for sale on TVs.

Actually Black Friday had the best TV prices across all price categories. This week is also good, but for most brands and models Black Friday had even lower prices.

Like samlop10 also said, with this week's promotional sale prices as will Black Friday and all other times you can purchase from any of your favorite retailers

You didn't mention your price range.

That being said, a Sony XBR-65 Z9D is $3500 today. I bought one almost a year ago today for $5000. Each LED is it's own zone. HDR10 is fantastic on this tv. Also has DoVi FW update available. And Sony X700 uhd player getting DoVi in a couple of months.

I am from the UK and its either in January - March when new ranges come out or Black Friday but last year, there was no Black Friday deal on the tv I wanted so I didn't upgrade yet, I still haven't moved on to 4k yet.

Superbowl sales are a complete myth. The sales are basically fake. The week of black Friday is 100% the best sale week. After that, the time when tvs start to get clearanced out. We are very close tho to clearance time!

Before SB. Got a hell of a SB deal on my x900e. Black Friday is another good one.

Hey Johnny!
If you didn't get a TV yet, you may want to spy the net for some special deals.
TV manufacturers like Sony, LG & Samsung begin advertising their 2018 models, the bonus to this is the 2017 models are usually at close-out prices, those are the ones you look at. TCL has several good sets at wonderful prices, and the picture quality is as good as comparable Sony, LG models.
Keep an eye on Amazon & New Egg.
