This seems to include a 4K UHD disc, by the way.

Yeah, the regular release is one disk, while the 4K regular release is 2 discs according to the site here. Will update shortly...

Hopefully this 4K release will NOT have stacked discs like Prisoners of the Ghostland had. Needed to replace that 4 times to get a disc that wasn't both loose AND scratched to hell. Eventually got one that was loose but not scratched enough to affect playback. Insane.

Me too. Was able to do curbside pick up Friday from Best Buy and in mint condition. Although they keep bringing them out without a bag. It occurred to me that this increases the chances of them dropping it and messing it up. Anyway I previewed the movie a little that night and it looks pretty cool. Reminds me visually a little of Heavy Metal which is good thing.

The animation was cool but the music wasn't as good as Heavy Metal. I haven't been getting bags either but I don't want them.

They kind of ruined it with that plastic sleeve and those stickers.
Oh well, a blind buy for me.

How does that ruin it? You can very likely remove those stickers. And if you don't care for the plastic case, then throw it out. I love when Steelbooks come with clear slipcases like that.

What plastic case are you guys talking about? If you're referring to willo007's pictures, that's a steelbook protector, which has been bought separately and doesn't come with the release.

This is correct, I have all my Steelbooks protected. I apologize if the pictures were misleading.

i wondered about that, because I didn't see that in the unboxing vid I just saw. The stickers threw me off.

Oh definitely agree on the music but that original Heavy Metal soundtrack is iconic. I don't really want a bag other than it might make it easier for the BBY team member to not drop my steelbook on the way out to my car.

Ah, I see. Yes, I got mine and confirmed that there is no sleeve.

Kind of wish they didn't put the blurbs on the cover, and Richard E. Grant's name is weirdly formatted, but I guess that's nitpicky.

I wish they had incorporated this painted art into the package somehow. I wouldn't have minded this on a slipcover:

How’s the movie? Site review was meh on it, but as a fan of Heavy Metal and Fire & Ice I think this might be up my alley.

I enjoyed it and don't regret the blind buy. I think if you liked Fire & Ice you will like this.
