Video Game Trader - Blu-ray Forum

Hi. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with Video Game Trader in Calgary. In addition to video games, they're also selling movies. Are they cool to deal with? I found their website this past Saturday and placed an order. I haven't received a shipping notification / tracking number yet.

I visit their physical store sometimes. They used to have 3 stores but downsized to one store a couple years back. They sell new and used items. They are legit and everything I have bought from them has been in good condition with zero problems.

I have never made an online order so no clue how long it takes them to process an order.

I guess we can use this thread, if anyone sees something interesting on the website. I seem to recall that someone was recently looking for the Vinegar Syndrome release of Drop Dead Fred, which VGT has in stock.

To circle back, I received my tracking number on Friday, so it's cool. My package should be here by Monday (tomorrow).

Took some BDs to them and they offered around $3 per title as store credit. I figured it was around 40% of what I thought the going rate of eBaying them would earn, but there was no time and listing time lost.

Better than a pawnshop offering $1 or 50 cents.

I get it. The business needs to make money too.

Any idea what Buy and Sell store offers for blu-rays? (across from Ranchman's)

I sometimes get $1, but they reject a lot. They told me lately they've been turning away thousands of DVD titles, so likely quite a few Blus as well.

Anyways, Video Game Trader has been great. There's more in-store than what is online.

Yeah, I was gonna mention that too. Lots more in store than on the website. Including autographed copies in the front counter by the cashier. Saw a copy of Caligula in there autographed by Malcolm McDowell.

They have some newer Vinegar Syndrome titles for a great price I was able to get Mother's Day on 4K for free because I traded in some older titles but it was priced at $50.

25% off 'everything ' on line and in-store. Long line though. Babarella 4K LE is $54.99 minus 25% gets you close to $42. They have 2 behind glass.

Wish I was there today but I'm in Kelowna for the holidays. Dropped off a bunch of my double-dip blu-rays and Wii games just a couple weeks ago for store credit (some were sealed). Hoping to get some GameCube controllers when I get back.

Their website being down for a while now seems to be limiting business. They were offering $2 per traded-in BD when I brought some in last time.

They are no longer taking in BD/DVD trades unless they're around Criterion level quality according to the rep working today.
