Default Fear the Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season (2016)

Fear The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season Blu-ray
Quote:
BEVERLY HILLS, CA (October 11, 2016) – AMC’s fan favorite chilling and tension-filled original series, “FEAR THE WALKING DEAD: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON” arrives on Blu-ray™ + Digital HD and DVD on December 13 from Anchor Bay Entertainment. “Fear the Walking Dead”, executive produced by showrunner Dave Erickson, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert and starring Kim Dickens as Madison, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Rubén Blades as Daniel, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia, Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris and Colman Domingo as Strand, premiered its critically acclaimed second season on Sunday, April 10th with the second half of the season debuting on Sunday, August 21st.

Living in the same universe as “The Walking Dead,” “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 1 explored a blended family who watched a burning, dead city as they traversed a devastated Los Angeles. In Season 2, the group aboard the Abigail is unaware of the true breadth and depth of the apocalypse that surrounds them; they assume there is still a chance that some city, state, or nation might be unaffected -- some place that the Infection has not reached. But as Operation Cobalt goes into full effect, the military bombs the Southland to cleanse it of the Infected, driving the Dead toward the sea. As Madison, Travis, Daniel, and their grieving families head for ports unknown, they will discover that the water may be no safer than land.

“FEAR THE WALKING DEAD: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON” introduces new cast members including Dougray Scott (“Heist”, Mission Impossible II), Arturo Del Puerto (Ride Along), Daniel Zovatto (It Follows), Veronica Diaz (“Criminal Minds”, Blaze You Out), Danay Garcia (Supernatural), Carlos Segura (The Sale of Paradise) and Alfredo Herrera (Dios, Inc.).

Featuring 15 episodes from the epic second season, as well as bonus features including audio commentaries, deleted scenes, Inside and Making of Pieces and so much more, the Blu-ray and DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $79.99 and $69.98, respectively.

Not sure how I feel about Season Two. Loved the first half, but haven't gotten around to watching since the show returned from hiatus.

Let me start by saying I actually like this show. I enjoy it. But I didn't feel compelled to buy the first season when the Blu-ray was announced. I told myself that I would make my decision on whether or not to buy this series as it came out at the end of the second season. I still haven't decided if I really need to buy this show.

For sure I'm making my decision at the end of the third season. It's a good show, I just don't really see myself watching this as often as The Walking Dead.

Also, what is with the incredibly quick release dates on this show's Blu-rays? The season just ended a little over a week ago. With The Walking Dead we have to wait 4 or 5 months for the Blu-ray.

S1 was ok, I might get S2 since I didn't get to see all the episodes but overall I don't find the show anywhere as good as TWD.

Ehhh I think I'll pass for now. I liked season 1 well enough, and I liked the first half of this season, but the second half was so boring. Except the last two episodes, those were pretty awesome.

I just don't see myself going out of my way to rewatch it a lot.

I am planning on picking this up, but I'm going to wait to make sure that they don't pull a special edition out of their butts like they did with season 1. Luckily I never got around to buying season 1 until after the special edition was announced. I'm sure as hell not buying this one right away.

Day1 for me!
I recently rewatched the S1 extras, just before the S2 finale. They were pretty well done, and I'm hoping for more of that on this release.

Captain Flint, I feel the exact same way you do! Ive been enjoying the majority Season 2, but I always feel like I'm trying harder to like it than I actually do. One thing I don't see mentioned much is the difference in cinematography between this and the original show. The switch to digital is very obvious to me, and never retains the same feeling. The grit and graininess of the film stock in TWD has such a different vibe and evokes a classic horror feeling - not to mention it looks stunning on Blu. The way Fear is shot never really fully draws me in to the world. I will prob wait for Season 3 as well to see if it's something worth watching all the way through again.

I doubt there will be a special edition for this. After season 1 of TWD all disc content has been the same.

True, but then you never know. I'd rather be safe than pissed off. Still, even if they don't release a special edition, by the time I get around to buying it, I'll probably be able to pick it up at a reduced price.

Hopefully this is better than the first season, which I thought was dreadful. The only reason I'm interested in this is because of the apparent boat setting.

I don't think there is going to be a special edition.

1)When they announced the first release of season 1,in the press release they said upfront that there would be a second special edition release. That's why I waited for the special edition since I knew upfront it was coming.

There is no mention of a second future release in this season 2 press release

2)The first release of season 1 only had one special feature I believe. It was almost a bare bones release. The special edition was loaded with special features.

This season 2 set sounds more like the special edition of season 1.Lots of special features.

Well, you're in for some disappointment. The boat setting only lasted a few episodes.

The Abigail is only in the first six episodes. All the money they put into making that boat i find it hard to believe they won't bring it back at some point.

Six episodes sounds good enough, just hoping the characters have been improved from S1.

I watched the first half of Season 2 and got more bored with each passing episode. I don't get how you can possibly make zombies boring, but wow...this show accomplishes that. One of the biggest problems is that I just don't care about any of the characters. I don't know why that is - bad writing maybe? I really like the regular flavor of TWD.

The back 8 episodes of S2 have been collecting on my DVR for weeks now, unwatched. It seems a bit overwhelming at this point to dive back in, but my OCD may not allow me to quit a show mid-season.

Any feedback on whether the 2nd half is better than the first?

I was a little let down by the first half of the season and almost gave up on the show. Glad i didn't because the second half improved and those final two episodes were really good. I'm looking forward to season three especially with the addition of Dayton Callie(Unser from Sons of Anarchy)to the cast.
