Looks like the success of Parasite has had an effect.

It was passed UNCUT by BBFC in mid Jan long before Parasite won best film. I think it was some other reason.

Hopefully it's in 1.85:1, but I guess they will port over the Anchor Bay BD.

I only bought the Aussie release a couple of months ago too, as I gave up on a UK release. But noooow they release it.

I also just bought the Aussie disc, considering it’s Lionsgate (owns Anchor Bay), I hope they’ll include all the extras.

The popularity of Parasite is probably the main factor, don’t know why it took them more than five months to get it out though, maybe rights as it hit Netflix around the same time last year?

I don't have a problem with the 1.78:1 AR, but I do take issue with the compression on the Anchor Bay BD. If it's a new encode, hopefully the compression is on-point.

You can thank me, I imported the US version (and the DVD of Barking Dogs Never Bite) a couple of months ago! I hope the Parasite effect also results in Memories Of Murder getting a Blu-ray release here from someone, my DVD has some digital artefacts that break up the picture at a few moments.

With this coming from Lionsgate, I’ve got my fingers crossed we might see Uncut Gems sometime down the pipeline. I think the likelihood is that the Netflix deal with that one is quite different, to the likes of this and the Paramount films but here’s hoping.
