Up now on netflix.

Pretty major disconnect between poor scores on RT critics and user reviews, and the good scores on netflix user reviews and instantwatcher reviews.

I'm a fan of Andrew Niccol because of Gattaca and The Truman Show, and I guess In Time too. Andrew Niccol + sci-fi is usually worth it, more times than not.

I watched this the other night on Netflix. It's an OK sci-fi'er. The film is generally a cold affair with a fair amount of nudity and some steamy sex scenes thrown in to generate some heat. Clive Owen turns in an OK performance as a detective being systematically shoved out of his comfort zone. If you've seen his turns in The International and Derailed, you know what to expect from him here. Amanda Seyfried is cool as ice in her role. She does look great here providing some nudity and some heat in a specific sex scene just to warm things up a bit. Seyfried alone may be enough reason to watch this one. The film presents an interesting premise but tends to run out of steam a bit before it arrives at its conclusion. While not totally a misfire, this film could have been so much more. A 2.5/5 for me. For the poll, I would have to round it off to the lower end and give it a 2, as I can't push it any higher than the 2.5.

I thought this was pretty good. I got a Blade Runner vibe from the soundtrack a few times.
