Warner Bros The Flash (2023) [Never in 3D]

Also it feels like Warner Brothers has turned it's back on the 3D format as the newer DC movies starting with the last Suicide Squad movie was not offered in 3D only 2D IMAX. I find it especially strange for a movie like The Flash that is filled with chaotic action sequence and special effects that features one of the more well known comic superheroes especially among kids along with Batman, Superman & Spider-Man, to me it feels like such a huge mistake to not offer this movie in the 3D format as well.

Yeah especially under it's new awful management, it makes no sense when Marvel is still offering all their movies in 3D. I've been looking but can't find anything on why Warner is no longer offering DC movies in 3D nor anything about them being done with 3D.

Wouldn't doubt that, not even Dune part 2 will be in 3D despite the first one being in it.

Yeah and this is really sad also when the visuals in the movie look like they were made for 3D.

I thought they converted The Flash into 3D already based on some posts? If it's not in 3D, that really stinks. I'll see it for Keaton's Batman, and Affleck's Batman, but definitely disappointing if true about the lack of 3D.

After Avatar 2 finally hit theaters and was a huge hit, now is the time to be offering strong 3D films in theaters and on blu ray 3D.... Along with a new 3D display for 3D fans in addition to 3D projectors (outliving the market for 3DTVs which were stopped for production in 2017 or so).

With Warner not attaching 3D to Black Adam it was understanding but still surprising but with The Flash this is just shocking, this is one of the biggest movies of the year starring one of the most popular comic book heroes with kids and Warner isn't even trying to capitalize on the 3D format with this movie.

Avatar: The Way Of Water I thought would be the movie that brought 3D back again, but so far despite Avatars huge success studios are still trying to stay away from this format. With no electronic companies even showcasing any new 3D TV sets.

Its disapointing to see, that no one uses James Camerons 3D tech to produce a native 3D experience, after Avatar 2. Bring back Anderson and his wife Mila for something like "Resident Evil: World 3D". Afterlife & Retribution, using Camerons "Fusion 3D" tech are still on my "best 3D ever seen" list. Will never forget how amazing this was seeing this for the first time

Is it true that even Warner converted Mortal Kombat 100%, canceling the theatrical run?

Why do we have a new thread for a film that's not releasing in 3D? All the posts here are more suited in the Converted 2D film wishlist or something.

I was going to merge it with that thread but thought I'd leave it for a few days to allow everyone to vent.

On principle though, you are 100% correct, threads should not be created in the 3D forum for 2D films that were never converted to 3D.

I don't see the harm in leaving it up when it's so clearly indicated in the thread title and first post. At least temporarily. There was definitely some confusion as to whether this title would be 3D or not, and a not unrealistic expectation. It was certainly reported as such. Bad information, presumably. It's good to at least have clear confirmation one way or the other.

If people don't care to discuss further, the thread will drop out of sight, if they do, why not.

Maybe, but after so many 2D movies in a row from DC I can't say I was expecting them to make an exception for this one...

The last DC film film to be offered in 3D was Wonder Woman 1984 which is sad, not even the upcoming DC Blue Beetle film is being offered in 3D it's being promoted as an IMAX experience.

Posters for 3D movies often do omit the word "3D". And IMAX frequently plays 3D conversions in 2D. It's not looking hopeful, but let's wait until 2 weeks before release when ticket pre-sales happen before ruling out the existence of a 3D version. WB did label it a 3D movie in their studio list of upcoming features.

They literally have almost no money to run their business. They pushed Shazam - a movie that was in the can - out several months because they couldn't afford ad campaigns for it and Black Adam too close together.

I would assume that The Flash creators may well have wanted a 3D conversion, but David Zaslav isn't spending money on anything.

The other reality is that Ezra Miller's private life was so toxic that WB was not able to make concrete plans for a theatrical release. Without knowing 100% that the movie was going to theaters, throwing another 10 or 15 million+ into a 3D conversion would have been a gamble.

I have Resident Evil Retribution in 3D haven't seen it yet but yea Resident Evil: Afterlife has been at the top of my best 3D films ever made list for years.

I've been seeing that the recent Mortal Kombat was suppose to be in 3D but Warner cancelled it for whatever reason.
