Well, Circuit City sucks anyways relating to their customer service. I hope they go bankrupt like Kmart and Albertsons here in San Antonio

I think CC will survive along with BB.

The demographic for the Comp USA crowd are all internet savy where you can always find a better deal.

Movies is a different animal and that is what is working so well for BB at the moment.
Their movies are too close to full retail just like BB but they still sell.
HDTV's are also strongsuits for both.

I am not a fan of BB really.. but I would so much rather go in their than Circuit City. Other than a crappy store CC always seems to have inconvenient locations.

yeah + compusa got away from well COMP they tried to become bestbuy with tvs and systems and amps exc. they just arent that type of store, to compete with bestbuy cc, exc.. As for CC they have the worst customer support and when I've bought something as simple as an hdmi cable or power cleaner it takes about an hour with 3 other people in line.. hope they dont go away but I wouldnt be shocked

I work for Tiger Direct, and we just bought CompUSA's assets, including their name. Tiger is much better at business than CompUSA, but I don't know what our intentions are. I do know that we're taking over their retail space.

Circuit City's customer service is atrocious.
I went in there to swap a movie with their dvd sticker still on it for store credit and they wouldn't do it.
After I stood there for quite some time waiting on someone to show at the counter no less.
There blu-ray prices are insane. Most titles over $30.

I went into two CCs here in Indy looking to see their prices on recordable DVDs. They didn't have any. Best Buy has lots.

Strangely Circuit City just opened a brand new store by me less than a month ago.

I had an extended warranty (which I rarely buy) on my Onkyo 805 with them. I canceled it a few weeks ago. Does that tell how I feel about their survival!

I hope not, they're a nice complement to Best Buy. In my area, they're right across the street from each other and when I can't find something at one place, I can usually find it at the other.

they have to have some profits coming in from somewhere.

BB has actually bought some the former CC stores and will be opening them in 2008. In Miami CC closed down 1 store BB is opening 3 more.

When it comes to players that make a difference CC is just not that important.

Well I hope they don't go away soon. I bought my PS3 there along with their 2 year warranty which I plan on using before it's up. Other than that, good ridance. The place is just horrible. Horrible customer service, horrible set up, horrible stock, and their cashier system is the worst. It is not line friendly.

CC just needs to better train and staff their stores. They will live. There is room for two "big box" electronics retailers.

Radio Shack is "small box" and survives because they prey on a different market segment.
