I'm trying to redeem directly on Vudu but it says invalid code. So I go to the universal site, type code in, it leads me to MoviesAnywhere which I don't have an account for

New Universal codes have to be entered at Movies Anywhere. You have to make an MA account and link Vudu.

Studios and digital retailers really need to get their @#%# together and figure all this out once and for all instead of constantly changing the way digital services work or they will kill it off because of all the ridiculous confusion they keep creating for their customers.

Yeah. Think they are finally doing that with ma. Since that’s backed by Disney I believe it’s here to stay. It’s basically replacing the uv locker.

Disney Movies Anywhere was backed by Disney.

Movies Anywhere is a company on Disney property overseen by a representative from each of the participating studios.

Same, I redeemed my HDX code from the blu-ray of Pitch Perfect 3 directly into Vudu with no problem.

wait until VUDU has UHD as that is why it is showing invalid; once UHD is shown as an option the code will work - it should also redeem on FNOW as UHD

Well actually Disney runs and owns it. Each studio has a representative to advise them. However Disney calls all the shots in the end.

I don’t think Disney is calling all the shots. It was the other studios that wanted to get rid of the SD to HD upgrades that Disney had with DMA.

The other MA partners would not just hand over code redemptions and policy without some type of say.

Well of course they want to get Rid of that. Since they still release codes in sd. I just used a sd Disney code and it still upgraded to hd. So in the end Disney calls the shots but they do take advice on what the other studios would like. If you read any article they all talk about the other studios are an advisory board to give advice. That Disney then can or cannot take. However it’s in the best interest to listen to them for the most part as like any kid in a sand box they can take their toys and go home anytime they want. Lol.

In Canada, both Fox and Universal have ceased iTunes support and will only now offer a Google Play or UV code through Flixster.

Universal was always UV+iTunes, so I was pretty surprised to see that I didn't get an iTunes copy with my Pitch Perfect 3 purchase.

Since you have a 4k copy you should redeem at MA or FandangoNow. Vudu doesn't have it in 4k but those other providers should.

Disney SD codes don’t redeem in HD and those articles just quote each other with no inside info.

Just do cross border shopping in the usa with a laptop or ipad. Register an account with moviesanywhere during your trip. Create a vudu account, itunes usa account and an amazon.com account. link your digital lockers in moviesanywhere. Canadian universal codes will redeem in vudu and port to moviesanywhere. Use uvspider search engine to buy fox title for redeeming in ma. Uv flixster(canada) when connected to vudu will port to moviesanywhere and vudu etc...

Make an MA account anyway. Don't let region-blocking buggers get you down. That's what I did.
You only need a VPN to get the account created. Once it's up and running, you can log in without a VPN. Even if you don't have a US iTunes account, you can use a Canadian GP account and watch through YouTube.
