Question XLR and RCA at same time?

Instead of getting a splitter involved, can I use both the XLR and RCA outputs on my pre-pro instead? Any problems with both outputs being used at the same time? Marantz AV8801, need extra subwoofer outputs. Thanks.

If you are getting the same signal through both, I don't think it should be an issue. If its the last stage of the signal, and there is no further processing after the split, it should be OK. At least from a signal chain perspective.
