I quite enjoyed the Hollywood remake of "Girl...Dragon Tatoo" (though honestly still prefer the original trilogy) so I think this one might be pretty good as well.
I hope so, I haven't really followed or even seen much hype about it yet but I'm usually pretty optimistic...
Thanks again neoz for having your finger on the pulse, as usual, heh.

The substitute author, David Lagercrantz, took the characters created by the late Stieg Larsson, to continue the series.

Unfortunately, it appears that the story betrays the essence of Stieg Larsson’s original intent, which is more down-to-Earth and darker.

Under David Lagercrantz, it is like a mediocre Bond-clone, with fantastical action scenes, and fantastical scenarios. The movie adaptation of this seems to reflect this attitude.

I like the artwork of the above. Very pretty.

Me, too. I think Rooney Mara did a fantastic job portraying Lisbeth Salander and while I hate to say that a bigger budget equates to better quality, David Finch’s version had the polish of a Hollywood feature film. Was really disappointed that Finch, Mara, Daniel Craig, and Robin Wright wouldn’t continue and make the the other two films in Stieg Larrson’s Millennium trilogy.

I’ve yet to read the newer books, but I am interested in this release.

This was by far an awful movie. I do like the artwork but have to pass as it would look mediocre to my GWTDT collection because the film is THAT bad .

Having read the book before I saw the movie I can tell you 100% that this is not the case. The movie and the book have VERY little in common except some minor themes and some character names. The book is VERY in line with the original trilogy, even in his portrayal of Lisbeth, whereas the movie is obviously trying to go more of the "Bourne" route. If they had actually stayed true to the book, this would have been a lot better and far more in line with what we've come to expect from this series.

I’m bummed we never got more films from Finch and crew, but curious to see how this third take goes.
Hopeful for a BB release.

Surprised the US didn’t even get a 4k release, let alone a steelbook.
Preordered this and took care of both!

I wouldn't have minded so much if they'd swapped the artwork back-to-front and made one of the images B&W to contrast. (The interior just looks unprofessional though.)
