I hope they include both the theatrical cut and the extended DVD Director's Cut.

The Director's Cut is what's on most BDs around the world, but I think the theatrical cut is superior. There's an added scene that, to my mind, undermines the movie and alters the main character enormously.

To my knowledge, the theatrical cut has only been released on the German BD (without English subtitles) and the Brazilian BD (with English subtitles, but which I've never been able to track down).

There are actually three cuts, there's also an entirely separate UK cut. It may be impossible to license that version, I don't know.

I hope they're able to include all the special features from the old Canadian 3-disc version. Properly subtitled, at that, as I think a chunk of them were French-language with no subtitles.

It's about time. There have been international releases for quite awhile, made me wonder if it was a rights issue in the states. If it was a rights issues, I was almost thinking it would have made a good VSU title for Vinegar Syndrome since they have untangled many messes before, but either way, glad it's finally coming out and I can retire my DVD.

All I remember about that release was that it wouldn't play on whatever video game console I was trying to play it on, and I had to actually get a dedicated DVD player just for that movie, and I did, and it was WORTH it.

I think people said the issue was that Universal had lost their US rights, and even StudioCanal had lost their overseas rights, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm super excited that Shout figured out who now controls the film, and finally brought it to BD in the US.
